Bonuses are flat +X bonus:
- luck
- PDR
- phys damage
- magic pen
You can pick only one, can't change it for whole season and it is for all characters... so unless you play specific class only (i.e. as wizard you might want magic pen) - best option is +luck but of course thats just my advice.
Sorry, but that's complete nonsense, the other religions have their own merits and are intended for players who prefer to seek advantages in the areas of PDR, melee damage or more magic penetration. And this is definitely noticeable in higher gear brackets.
Luck, on the other hand, may seem very advantageous at first glance, but it also has disadvantages. For example, the drop chance of certain special and quest items, such as the troll pelt, is reduced by luck.
Overall, you can say that all religions are important. Choose one that improves your personal play style.
Valid point about the troll pelt... i totally forgot about that.
Exactly =) To illustrate this with numbers:
Just 50 Luck reduces the drop chance of the troll pelt from 15% to 14.0815%.
At 100 Luck to 13.3871% and so on. Therefore, big luck as stat is not always an advantage.
Apparently the devs want to collect "data", but as a long time player (way before steam release) I can tell you that that data will be collected (whatever data it even gives them considering how inconsequential the bonus are that religion provides) and then pretty much forgotten right away.
