I hope they do look at the classes least played and figure something out. Also rework the quest systems. I hear the gear-lock on wizard is why they aren't being played much RN.
I think the fighter is generally not bad. The problem is his great dependence on gear, such as accumulating high PDR. He would certainly benefit from an overhaul that would allow him to specialize more clearly in an aggressive or defensive playstyle. So far, he is also too dependent on reacting to the active behavior of others. Instead, he should be able to play a more active role. Furthermore, the block and parry mechanics should be further improved for him, as this is currently his main strength.
Swift is simultaneously somewhat mandatory on non-Slayer builds due to the sheer weight of Armor in general and also generally bad because half the time you're going to be tossing your armor off entirely just to chase any ranged unit so the speed you gain from it is mildly redundant a lot of the time.
Does anyone even use Combo Attack? Projectile Resistance feels a bit weak (especially with the added natural armor pen on bows added recently). Adrenaline Spike has the issue where it is WAY too easy to just die before it generates any value (especially at higher gear brackets).
Its defensive perks are only really used for the sake of Longswords most of the time (especially Counterattack).
A good half of its Skills are just so utterly outclassed that they're not worth even considering, Shield Bash has a move speed reduction but even in the move speed hellscape we're in it's too slow to be worth using, not to mention melee locked, struggle to find any reason to use Taunt as it's one of the few examples of a pure PvE skill (10% to both damage resistances isn't much either), and Perfect Block doesn't seem like it does enough to justify using it in a limited slot.
Yet despite all of these gripes I have Fighter still has all the tools it needs and a varied set of playstyles available to it, unlike say Rogue which basically is "LOL Landmine or GTFO" 90% of the time for example.
That would be ideal. Have a basic set of stats for each class and then have 10 points to dump wherever upon creation.
As a plate and longsword enthusiast, there is usually no free slot for combo attack. Protectile perk is imho useless because most of the protection comes from gear. Besides that, Swift, defense and shield mastery and barricade are my absolute favorites.
Btw, combo attack could be helpful for one-handed sword fighters or slayers who don't use plate and have more free slots.
That's not a bad idea either. Or give us free stats as we lvl up. I hope this training thing they are working on gets figured out soon...
Swift on the other hand...I have a feeling the meta will still be taking off your chest armor because that will still be a bigger move speed increase than what swift gives.
Swift hardly gave move speed anyway. Like 1% up to 1.3% now or something like that. I take it because I need all that I can get it seems.
