Can someone please explain co-op exits?
Friend and I are running through various maps, and generally find stairs (blue icon on mini-map). Most of the time, only one of us can go through, but it still shows as a blue icon for the other player. Then sometimes we get to a set, and we can both go through?

Just would like some clarification on how this all works please. Haven't played since all of the changes (played when it was only portals and fortnite circle).

Look for the blue circles, not the stairs if youre paired up. The portals spawn in 3's there. Blue stairs and ropes are always single use.

Special exits like the lift in GC center or raft in ice caves will take as many as you can fit, and come at regular intervals.

Red stairs are infinite use, but those send you deeper.

Ok, thank you.

its stupid to have these in coop. but mainly try to get the blue tranced circles...or the lift...or the boat...they accommodade as much players as it fits...if you find other friendly parties they can get those and get out with you too.

Yeah, I wish the blue staircases and ropes would disappear from the mini-map once someone uses them. Very confusing and irritating when you run to one and find it's already been used.

I think that's the point, to keep folks on edge.

I like creeping into a stair to exit while another player is mining nearby, then spectating the guy that with less than a minute, tries to use the stairs, then panic runs to find another exit lol.

Many times my group has had to split into 3 different extracts but we normally try to play around group extracts/lower levels.
Group Extracts: Portal Rooms, Goblin Caves center elevator, Ice Cavern boats, and Ice Cavern elevator at the top left of the map.
If you want to explore Inferno or Ice Abyss, those staircases/entries can be used by any amount of players. The red staircases in The Forgotten Castle will take you to Inferno. On the Ice Cavern map, there are massive holes in some of the rooms. After 2:30, they start faintly glowing red if you look into them, you and your team can just jump into the hole. The easiest entry is Hut C at the bottom left of the map. Sometimes we're so out of time to extract that we just take the lower level, it'll be harder but we have a shot at all getting out.

In practice, solo exits mean you have less chance of running into a player but a possible chance the exit has already been taken. Portal exits are more likely to be there, but have an increased danger as more players are likely to go for them.

It's a sort of soft late-game flashpoint, and you are given the choice of taking that risk accordingly.

Also, if you want to play it "safe"... then go for the portal exits when there's still 5+ mins or more left on the clock. Many players loot until the last min, and the portal won't usually be "busy" until 2-3 mins or less (barring the camper of course). Chances are if you want for the final minutes to hit the portal, you will run into others doing the same, especially on duo-trio maps.

God...the number of people I have watched just drop dead from not paying attention to the clock is way too high...it's especially bad when playing with random Gathering Hall groups where I often feel like I'm mostly just an alarm clock for people who have trouble waking up.
