It's a hardcore dungeon crawler, no doubt about that. But what game makes it a "national sport" that players only play with puny gear in HR or Norms to avoid a total loss?
I think we can all agree that dying in the game should have noticeable consequences or bring a small victory for the successful winner. But the current game concept is half-baked. No smart player wants to lose their hard-earned gear because of a stupid mistake of randoms or just bad luck.
Ironmace will have to adapt to this in the long term. At the latest when player numbers go down again.
Btw, what other games do interests nothing here.
This is all about Dark and Darker and its future!
And learn to write a correct sentence first. My goodness...
The game used to look pretty bad too. So that's not a good argument.
The squire was made to address that exact request though. People wanted a more stable build to start from where they would risk nothing.
Yea, that's true. But unfortunately or naturally, players still want to have some security later on.
Why is up to 125 the mode where most players are currently playing? Exactly, because not everyone has the time and leisure to make up for a total loss. The developers should take this into account. I'm curious to see if the announced arena mode will bring some progress in this area.
First world problems i suppose. Im TRYING to lose gear.
Well, if you're at a point where losing a full set of epic or legendary armor no longer hurts you, then you've made it. Congratulations :D
The thing is, if you can keep all of your great stuff even if losing, you're gonna have those problems :
1) Market/player exchanges gonna lose its meaning, as you're gonna get rapidly the best stuff and just ditch everything else, reducing the amount of stuff you're gonna actually buy and use, and once you keep "best gear" why bother checking other stuff? you already have the best
2) Since you don't lose your gear, but then your killer STILL get your gear, that mean its only a matter of time before everyone else get their "copy" of that sweet best gear (all legendary full gear everyone?)
3) since you can always keep your best gear secured, that means every other loot gonna become rapidly stale, and the rush of dopamine from getting that sweet high rarity loot also gonna disappear, removing one of the fun part of the game : LOOTING
One way to makes things less hurtfull is to make a item [that you only find and are not purchasable ] that f uction as an enchantment: when you die you only left 2-3 random items from your gear.
But again, I undestand both sides. And it's really frustating loosing all your gear that you had so much work to get.
There is no point using my best gear if I'm gonna loose because bad luck.
So thank you for all the unobjective, stupid and ignorant feedback. They only confirm that their owners have not fully read and understood my post. However, it shows me that my idea is right and important to create a new incentive.
