If you want to play solo then play a rogue so you can be sneaky and escape that much easier or a range class and keep your distance but a team based multiplayer pvp game cannot be balanced around a solo player.
Everything else is terrible though because if you are going to ask people to play one of these games you have to give them some way to progress. Being number 1 on the board in every game to keep loot is hilariously bad design
Find a better extract system that allows player progress.
no i want to play the game how i want to play not how the meta for cheating broken game design works.
its 2022 why would i do any of those things when the developer has tools to match people and put them into a game together instantly? There is also no voice chat which breaks the game considerably.
I make it out as solo ranger or rogue maybe 20% of the time with the starter gear; geared up I've managed three in a row, but this is not the norm. Anyway, it feels like a great accomplishment each time I do, and there is something enjoyable in this.
I agree however, the combat and movement in this game is not good. Its simplified morrowind combat, straight outta 2002
Its simply the fact the devs are going to end up murdering this game within the first day its out if its this hard to progress. Like i REALLY want to extract and progress but i cant. And even if i did , what would the benefit be to taking gear out on my next run if i know how broken the difficulty of extracting is and will lose it anyway?
The game needs
1. MUCH Easier extractions or the game is dead on arrival
2. VOIP
3. Matchmaking
You chose to play solo and that's 100% on you.
In a lot of games with voice chats people will turn it off to avoid mic spammers and usually a discord channel will be better quality then in game versions and this could be a thing they add but it's not a major factor for most games.
If they add one then they could add matchmaking but even then a premade group used to each others tactics are going to play better usually then a random group and in competitive games like this you really should be a bit social and be playing in a group.
no lol. I can only play solo im not going to sign up to forums to find people to play a game with its not 1994. We have things like open lobbies and matchmaking now. In fact we had this back in the 90s
>i love discord
cool thats great but some people just want to jump into a game and not navigate 3 different applications to enjoy it.
I think you're supposed to rely on the leveling to get your progression fix as solo player -- gear wise progression is impossible, you will lose everything you take into dungeon within a couple rounds at most. Doesn't matter to me but you may be right that the market generally expects this, I'm not sure. As solo player i just store everything and start with basic gear each round, saving resources for when friends are online, then I splurge a little. I still find this fun, but playing solo 100% of the time would probably feel kinda pointless as far as gear progression goes.
Which is why this game will fail. I saw the diablo 2 item menu for this game and "dungeon crawl" and i loved the idea.
I would rather them have character and item growth be character bound and you cant lose items. And then simply have higher tiers where you can risk it to get better items and stuff.
No reason to hit new players with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ progression wall on their very first playthroughs.
Just add 10k more items with stats like diablo and let players keep them
I have not read any dev notes, but I kinda assume things like voice comms, progression systems and combat will be improved for launch -- I think we're testing server-load and the core experience in the client rn. Call me a filthy optimist if you like, you might be right.
Perhaps read a guide or something.
