This guy conspiracy is even more insane than flat earthers
Sure buddy
"Dark and Darker have their own shortcomings in terms of security for the end-user, where it might turn off the consumer if they knew what they were getting themselves into.
Granted, many Anti-Cheat systems work in different ways (both negatively and positively), but this one reads all your files while pushing your system to the limit by overdoing and overloading your processors (ignoring frame-rate caps and going past it). However, I was not affected because of my updated and stronger hardware, but for me, it will shorten the lifespan of my components (already 3–5 years old), and it is worse for others, breaking their PCs that are either older or outdated in terms of quality and build.
In short, the Anti-Cheat system used here pushes and damages your system by using two applications named Tavern.exe and TavernWorker.exe (can be found in Dark and Darker game folders in Steam) on this gives you the indication of two running applications searching through your system and takes a picture of anything you do as well as reading everything stored.
This Anti-Cheat system, being intrusive to the point of valid concerns, is worth discussing and talking about. One thing is to search for any cheats, but reading every file and document on every drive you have on your PC during the whole session you play Dark and Darker is concerning."
SHORT ANSWER : Yes, this game degrades your CPU abnormally.
But most CPUs have a fail-safe that blue screen if it passes its recommended max temperature.
If you overclock, you might not have this and your CPU could be running high temps 24/7
or you could be extremely unlucky in the silicon lottery and got a faulty CPU from day one.
nope its a gate way for script kitties to spy and steal your info.
it seems to happen when i install games without good security.
and not sure how software can't wreak your hardware since your hardware does what the software tells it to do????
you'd need to contract the manufacturer or use the warranty on your new purchase and ask for a replacement CPU, and make sure they do not send you a refurbished one, which is probably what you currently have.. also, it's fair to say no CPU is equal to another, even when at the same model, and they will always perform slightly different, although, for the most, they will operate within the specifications of the manufacturer.
about Dark & Darker, there is nothing they do while in the Game process that is abnormal, HOWEVER, when you enter a game lobby a process is spawned and that process does work on all the files you have in your PC, for no reason whatsoever - that's not valid Anti-Cheat, and AFAIK, the only other business who applies such invasive software are Chinese business, like Riot - which, when demanded, will need to provide all the data to their government whenever requested.
personally, I like the Game and I've even acquired it, and this dodgy stuff wasn't in place - as soon I noticed that I didn't run the Game anymore, I'd recommend you to just not launch the Game until they fix the issue with the file scanner.
Thats a lot of words with no valid source or anything. Awesome job you did there.
Like how about some proof?
It's because you pooped few hours before ...
Stay away from games in early access, a fair few companies bringing out games nowadays in early access are just using you as a test subject to optimize their game so they dont have to pay companies to do it for them. You'll notice some EA games will run your CPU or GPU crazy high, mainly the CPU's, but honestly unless the temperatures stay below 80 degrees celsius on them then you're fine.
You're going to be fine. Hardware will throttle before it kills itself unless there are hardware defects, which software developers can't be held responsible for.
NSUDO.EXE > OPEN
CMD
>>now in CMD of trustedinstaller by launching CMD with NSUDO
notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
you are now in a no extension text file called 'hosts' , editing with text, (DO NOT SAVE AS .TXT, SAVE AS 'ALL FILES' with the name 'HOSTS' nothing more nothing less
delete everthing in the file
blank file
type:
0.0.0.0 1.2.3.4
where 1.2.3.4 is where the ip's processhacker showed u in the network tab. careful with doing it for steam
the ips on 443 and 80 are likely steam store, delivering ur worthless jpegs to ruin ur SSD (i use minigame list and it still overloads me with html cache crap), but u can delete ones that say, appear there before u open steam if ur not an expert
if the ip is 24.182.77.133
on a single line put:
0.0.0.0 24.182.77.133
save the file, watch the ip disappear from process hacker ;)
oh wow MOM my game runs really much faster dr meklin sure was right! i guess since on goofy wifi i should have done more stuff to account for my laziness to get ethernet wire!
