Dark and Darker

Dark and Darker

This is F2P experience with my siblings.
Alright, so overall the game is really well done, with only a few hiccups.

The graphics are great and things runs smoothly! I do wish they upped the lighting for torches and pre-installed torches as some areas are ridiculously dark with even 5-8 torches going on in a small room.

Player match-making .... it REALLY needs some work... and I mean REALLY REALLY. My siblings and I matched up with players 4-10 times our rank probably 7 times outta the 10 matches we played for NORMAL raids. Non of us were high ranking and didn't even have the full 4 perks available to us like all of these 15+ lvl players we kept match making with. I have seen lvl 100 players in our lobby and they obliterate us within minutes. I under stand that they are experienced and have better knowledge than us, but why are we pairing up with them in the first place? There needs to be a better match-making plan for these high lvls against low lvls.

Be sure to keep your gear level below 25. That might be why, but I am inexperienced.

yeah your gear score needs to be at like 24 or lower to be matched with others on the same item level.
For the experienced players not really much they can do tbh since some can be high level and still get wiped in pvp.
I would say just try and loot and scoot and just keep distance if you can tbh.

I keep my gear to the basic starting gear and so do my siblings when we log in for a lobby. Unless this gear thing includes anything in your stash? That wouldn't make much sense though. It's really odd pairing up with high lvls when we stat with noob lvl gear and so do they. Bu tthey have all the stats and perk slots available.

All stats are tied to gear, and level 15 can be achieved in about an hour. At level 15 and in low roller there is no higher or lower going in.

perks and that don't really make that much of a difference tbh...
idk hard to say but if everyone has the same gear I feel like people still have a chance at extracting gear and all that.
Like I said before just go the other way maybe and just try avoiding other players and just focus on getting gear out.

You will pair up with people of any level, it is the gear that is match made. If they have separate lobbies for levels and gear it will segregate the player base too much and you'll end up with dead lobbies. People are already complaining they don't see other players enough due to the BR style ring being removed.

Just accept it for what it is and learn the game

Perks make a huge difference. It can be build defining. Each class has multiple ways of being built and it is all about perks/skills/gear to make a build.

Fighter currently has 3 popular builds. Tank, slayer and dagger. Without the right perks the builds just don't work

I understand the whole "play to learn more and get better at it" aspect, but for something like this where the stuff you bring in could be lost to another player or just left there and spending all that time to secure those looted items is a deal breaker for newcomers when they're paired up with high lvls on low tier gear, with that note, the lvl difference in match-making is extremely important. Not only do these lvl30 and up players have had the time to learn the mechanics, map, ai enemies' reactions/attacks, best skill sets, and so on, you have little to no idea what the hell you're doing against the ai let alone, when by chance, running into these high lvl players. Sure, you can spend your time watching hours of "how-to's" and "top 3 class types", but there's alot of players, especially us older folks, who like to learn as we play and don't have the time to burn on tutorials everyday like some of these younger gamers. The lvl cap match-making could simply be implied to anyone below like lvl 30 and just give these new comers a chance to atleast FEEL like they have a chance when they are paired up with similar lvl'ed players.

It is absolutely not mid to late 90s graphics. Half life was 1998 and looks horrible in comparison and was considered top tier at the time

You must've never played mid 90's games then with that claim lol. I think you meant to say early 2000's to 2010-ish, even then though, those games were missing very specific graphical details that this game currently posses . The graphics are great for what limitations the developers have, that doesn't mean they're like AAA quality, which is why I didn't say "these graphics are amazing and new age".

If you pick up an amulet make sure you stash that. I forgot one time and it put me over the 25 gear score.
