Because its a courtesy for you that they even show up at all. They can't hold your hand forever. You need to grow up eventually.

Because not knowing it all part of the fun, Killing mobs and getting loot is one thing but getting out in another, best advice I can give you is to find a portal or exit early, clear that room then work from there and you will always have a clear path to the exit when you need to get out, and the more and more you play the easier it will get because you start to know where all the exits are without thinking.
