The spell wheel is what makes Wiz a high skill cap class. It is one of the hardest to play in the game, but also does crazy damage from range when geared up. It might not be the play style you like. Check out some of the top DaD players wizard videos for an idea of what playing a high geared Wiz is like
So they’re not worthwhile in low rank if they’re gear dependent.
What happens if you just dont use spell memory?
No idea, i don't play wizard at all. Wizard and Warlock just aren't my play style. I don't enjoy them at all. You would have to ask someone else about that. I do know that Wiz has the range going for it even at low gear gameplay which is a positive over melee
Then no spells for you.
You HAVE to have a spell memory in order to select and use spells.
Simply not having one just means you get an extra skill, which is usually magic dependent anyways.
Great to hear "High Skill Cap" is just a buzz word for you then...
Wizards have been nerfed into the ground from what i've seen.
On first glance hey they have some utility spells and plenty of interesting looking attack spells whoa!
But none of them do over 30 damage. And debuffs are literally a second or less from Slowness to burning from hitting a fire spell for some reason.
The poor old man has gone rotten.
The only saving grace i could see is sure you might be able to buff him up if you build him up the right way.
But again that's an up hill battle. Why wouldn't i just use any other magic class that gets summons and much better attack spells?
