That said,
OP - druid
OK - everything else
Trash - rogue
He can escape most dire situations yes, but is he op? No. He’s weak close combat. It’s almost like PvE class
The best class overall is Barb or Bard
Everything that Heals yourself is very strong because as a newbie you can allow yourself some fails to pve or pvp.
Druid is very strong but very new, it will be nerfed in future and you need a higher skill for this class, because of the Shapshifting, it allows you to jump trough doors and make a very long Jump but thats hard to learn for newbies.
Cleric is the Basic Healer, its very cluncky and slow but i think the best class for a beginner, you can go in with nothing and be useful and strong. Heal yourself when you get damage and sit down to get heals back. Take Lesser Heal and Buffs to be even stronger in the match.
Bard is very nice and OP in solos but hard to play because of the Instruments, when you got some gear on Bard the only counter would be a high Physical Damage Reduction Build (Fighter or Barbarian).
Ranger, Rogue and Wizard are very hard in solos for beginners i would avoid these classes when you want the best outcome.
Warlock is decent too but you cant go in with nothing and be strong, you got very little healing very little damage and you are very sqishy.
This all doesnt need to be the case, play what you want everything can be very good. I would recommend to watch some things on YT or Twitch to learn the game.
GL
i think close combat druid might be not bad if you summon treant beside yourself, and if you somehow manage surround and press your enemy against the wall, mostly its death for enemy.
i think druid has bad scaling though, he cant powerup his treants in any way, panther for take too much damage, bear slow and easy to hit.
i think druid base is his strong side.
But Cleric is probably bad PvP, only good against other novice players. He doesn’t have anything range. And he’s slow.
That makes Warrior a better choice PvP wise, and you will have to buy more healing at stores but that’s okay it’s cheap. You have a speedy ability to compensate your slowiness during PvP. And you can equip bow against range players. All this with plate armor. So it’s master of all trades, it feels like cleric but less quality of life PvE + more appealing PvP.

Rogues place low because of recent blanket increases to HP and movement speed, paired with reduced hide duration makes rogue a difficult class to engage in PVP, and they have no self-healing mechanics to sustain PVE damage. Not a great option for new players.
Rangers suffer a similar problem to rogues in being able to out-damage players safely, given the movement speed and HP changes; however, they do have some self-sustain capability with their 3-time use biscuits, making them a bit more viable to new players than rogue.
Wizards creep up the tier list with teammates because with support, they can put out serious damage and utility in PVP engagements. They're hands-down the weakest class vs PVE though, given their limited use of spells, downtime to recover said limited spells, and no forms of self-healing.
Fighter is best if you are new, his shield blocks and overall versality are very forgiving for -new- players, and makes the PVE a breeze.
Druid is very versatile- if you are willing to learn it.
Ranger's very good if you got aim.
Mage,Warlock,Bard require considerably skill and experience to squeeze all their potential from.
Barbarian is...fighter but crazy.
