Dark and Darker

its super annoying, not being able to find the escape
something has to be done about this, like a better map interface or something. i enjoy the experience of playing, but wish this like sudden rumbling wasn't a thing. I tried rushing towards a blue thing on map like someone said but idk, i really don't like to youtube things or follow meta guides, but i did recently find out you have to press G to rest to heal up a bit.

whats upsetting is i'm doing everything else right, except this exit thing how exactly does this sudden rumbling add to the game play or game experience exactly?

it needs to either be more prominently stated that this dungeon will collapse and then start the countdown instead of not, because as a new player, and first few experience of playing its kind of counter intuitive to the "Dungeon Experience"

I know with the game Dungeon Stalkers they have a ring of death which i hate but it plays a role in making the remaining players fight each other.

also the other issue is, why is there no matchmaking for group maps? i try to invite players but they don't join, idk how you are suppose to find other players to play with.

Anyways i do enjoy the game, but i get to immerse in playing and forget that i need to find a exit but idk where to find a exit.

and for a game, that does not have a tutorial exactly, it should have a more accommodating experience where a player can naturally discover things overtime. which is somewhat happening for me now, but i rather be fighting another player and not the dungeon collapsing on me, to bring my loot home.

Yeah... you see blue exit but it's already destroyed. GG and you can ONLY see them if you are close enough.....

Yeah the game does have a learning curve.. especially that it doesn't have a tutorial or manual. You'd have to look for ytube vid or search it up what other people says.

As to finding exit, as already said, look at the map for blue markers.

Additionally for Ruins, there are blue portals, that you'd be able to find on the ground with some rocks and blue colors on it. Three portals are available for interaction. These are not marked on the map. They usually come up from the ground for you to interact with.
The timing of exits becoming available can be random, but mostly they become available after half time.

but is it obvious or can you easily overlook a exit? i tried rushing to a blue marker on map and couldn't find what i was trying to find at all

There are several different kind of exits:
- Ropes, these are hanging from the wall and can be used from the start. Shown as a blue knot on the map
- Staircase, these only open in the second half of the round. Then the gate opens and the blue torches are lit.
- There are a few portals as well like mentioned. They only appear very late in the round and look like blue pedestals with a scroll in the middle

Then there are group extraction sites, like the lift or the raft. These are also shown on the map and can be used directly if I recall correctly.

In short, in time you will know vaguely where the exits are, and there are more than enough :)

Look for blue or red markings on the map. When you spot one, start looting in its direction. Clear the area and wait for the exit to open. This is the best way for newer players to start building their stash. Low risk, lower reward. Once you git gud, you can start hunting for the better loot rooms or dive deeper into the dungeon. But that's where you'll run into higher skilled players.

The game used to have a ring of death mechanic, but they removed it at some point. I actually miss it. It led to some chaotic and epic fights in the center towards the end of the match that were often desperate and nasty, because there were never enough exits for all the players left in the middle. So it was kill or die.

Look in the tavern for the chat room where people look for groups. Super easy to get invites in there.

I think people seem to forget it is early access and these are things that can be implemented over time, not only that but it is also free to "test" in early access. I wouldn't call it proper free to play until the whole game can be experienced for free. Regardless my point remains, give the devs time to iron out a new player experience. Until then just use youtube guides to give you more of a leg up
