when timer get close to 6 minutes you should already find blue thing on the map, it is exit, you probably can get away from there, if nobody would stop you, or if it wasnt used already.
Then pick something like fighter, he can self heal with one button tap
And don't forget to raise your camera when shielding, mods love to head shot you
I believe movement is the most important factor in both PvE and PvP, so focus on where to stand to avoid hits (basic forward then backward movement works on most mobs), then proceed to focus on how an attack slows the movement, and then learn to time the attacks to the movement.
Some attacks are easier side-stepped, others can be spaced, some can be crouched under (for example attempt to crouch and look straight down to dodge a spearman or axeman sideswing).
Learn the map on the run, look on the minimap to learn what's what. For example, in the Goblin Caves there are four different exits indicated in blue on the map (rope escape, elevator escape, staircase escape, and portal escape) so to be comfortable with what options are around at all times is important for comfort once at a point where loot is relevant again.
