Blindly running through rooms isn't going to make you find people in solo queue. You need to go to the points of interest. Go to the bosses. Go to troll or cyclops. Go to the treasure rooms in ice caves. You are never more than a room or two away from somebody when you spawn.
When you enter a room you check if mobs are killed and then you follow their path. Doors open outward toward the direction you are traveling.
Also keep an eye at the kill counter on the top. You are most likely still in the very newb lobbies where half if not more of the lobby dies to pve. I don't know exact numbers right now but solo queue maps have around 10 players in each map. If 8 people die to pve then that is it you are done lol. Once you start getting better and getting matched into lobbies with people who don't die instantly you will run into players more often.
Because they are all new players dying to pve lol. I have literally seen entire lobbies die to pve.
If you want pvp get off the goblin map or go to the troll. A solid 2-3 people will always go for troll in every match. The goblin map is still basically the tutorial level of the game.
Again that is literally just an issue with goblin caves. The map is designed that way on purpose. Everyone you are playing against in normal lobbies are going to be the free to play newbs most of the time. If you want to equip gear and actually go into a higher gear score queue you will start running into people a lot more often.
theres alot of people in this game who don't enjoy pvp, they just want to kick back relax and loot farm, i totally understand the interest since pvp has alot of sweat and people who minmax optimize their gear to the brim.
i'm one of those people, i play rogue... the class that needs alot of gear to be viable.
i like first getting the gear/gold and once my gear is complete, then i'll do the pvp.
i think this is true for many players, they first farm the capital and when they have enough, they'll do the pvp thing. unfortunately some classes need more gear than others for them to become pvp ready, like barb or fighter for example doesn't need any or very little gear to be viable, while a warlock or a rogue need alot. some classes are just super weak in their starter kits vs some of the others.
if you stack vigor you can literally live there, regen hp faster than the dark damage ticks.
sounds like it is more up my alley now
