Dungeon Recovery System Question

My friends think that if you die, then go back into the dungeon with that same character, then your first death's gear is lost. I don't believe that's how it works, and I didn't notice a difference when I'd go in and die multiple times, each time getting my set back.

Does anyone know how this system actually works? I've never seen the Goblin recover two sets at the same time, does overlapping recoveries actually cancel one of them out?

but you do get all ya loot back even if you die 100 times, or so i've seen in pve mode test out boss's
