Im not Saying you will become a top player overnight due to a skin. But everyfight where you survive with 1hp wouldve been a death if the other player had the $5 Frost skeleton skin.
The game is fine but for multiple people to just say it never had anything p2w is them being downright delusional to the point of being shills.
"Im not Saying you will become a top player overnight due to a skin."
So its not pay to win, you must still have some personal skill to succeed as you yourself said.
P2w Isnt just a blatant win you can literally purchase. Its when you can buy advantages in a pvp environment. Having Perks only achievable through extra purchases. Its wild the hill you trolls choose to die on. You act like saying it out loud is going to ruin the game. Have the devs remove stat boost on skins. Not rocket science. You guys love to argue that its an original system as if that excuses it for being anti consumer and just flat out bad.
You should never ever be able to have an advantage over another player who also bought the same product. A great example is the new felidian skin. +2 agility is just stupid. The games entire meta right now involves kitting other players and range spam. The Male feldian skin was originally only red shard until community outcry had them change it. However skins with advantages are still there. Still only allowed if you pay for it.
You have a misconception on what a pay to win is. You have this idea that it has to be an entirely one sided fight with game changing upgrades. When its more a term for unfair mechanics you can purchase in competitive games. (Competitive as in playing against other people not literally Comp play.)
Way more linguistically Gifted people have defined better than me.:
Pay-to-win mechanics are items, effects, or changes to a player's game that allow them to progress faster, play more effectively, or gain some other advantage that a player who cannot pay for the luxury.
Having Dexterity, Weapon damage, Armor rating, And even a 5% buff duration bonus locked behind paywalls is the game having p2w mechanics. Like im not insulting the game. Im just calling it how it is while you try to sugar coat it.
If you sincerely think that that +1 Weapon Damage or +3 Max Health is going to make or break a fight, then you never play anything higher than sub 24s.
Pay to win involves winning more than you lose PURELY because you paid for something, which isn't happening here.
bether go buy Helldivers 2 its the bether game with more players
The +1dmg -3ms one? That one is awful as MS is the best stat in the game
The +2 dex, -1 vig -1 str? That one is literally an equal trade off between the two
