The fog of war on forgotten castle SUCKS
I don't like the fog of war when you go down to the second level. Thoughts on the new style?

I think the fog of war needs to have a larger "explored" radius on your minimap but other than that its perfect and actually makes it feel like you're exploring again

I like the fog of war. People become much friendlier when you meet them. “Hey, stranger, have you come across any barracks on your way?” :D

thats the problem there is 5 pieces of map is missing everytime either wells or some other single map takes one and a 4 part worth piece is somewhere on the map. also with boss room it makes 6 piecess less in the map puzzle and some parts of map is left out. I believe it specially desingned that way just to make sure there will be backing up in quests. if you are removing map parts to add other rooms then remove finding map part quests from those maps. I like playing solo and I walk around the map for hours not finding barracks. its infuriating I have other quests to do yes but I want to deal with this first because its barring 2 more quests

I like it honestly. Maybe it needs to have some fixed exits, but i really feel now like i am in an unexplored and new dungeon, more or less

If anything it needs more mechanics to screw with player expectations. Dungeon crawling isn't worth doing if you know where everything is. When familiarity reaches peak you end up with a goblin caves situation which its just quake 3 arena at a slower speed. We all know GC, and we all know where we're going to end up when we kill each other.

That all said, I don't think there isn't necessarily value in keeping a map or two in that style. Some people like that and it isn't hurting us to keep it in there.

I agree, Dungeon Crawling with randomness is really awesome for me, you really dont know if the dark corridor you are following is going to be a dead end or what kind of room.
