True damage in general is always a terrible idea for balancing imo, especially when we have health values that are as low as they are.

anyone who pays for gold with real moneys kinda dumb tbh, But Skill is experience and has far hgiher value. for example a base kit rogue can kill a 30k kit player easily by distancing/treating them like a boss fight/dodging. I've seen it happen many times.

and true phsy/true magical is fairly cheap too I think it was like 200g for an all attributes blue true magical (all attributes being the most expensive stat) and true phys prob same there. blue giving +3 for their types. I think its called phoenix choker and frost amulet. Theres also other pieces you cana dd 1 to but those cost so little in general the added +1's arent gonna make or break anything really. And gold is very easy to get. for example rubysilver bars are usually around 800-1200g each, I can find a unique crystal sword for 7,500g you can kill another player for their kit where each piece is anywhere from 500-5k gold and so on. Centaur tails, rare drops. purple gems are 1k+ usually like 1500+ tho depends on kind (diamond being the worst) and an orange gem is super expensive too. I cant remember if from treasure pile I got an orange or a unique gem but I do know it was worth 33k gold alone for a single slot item.

point is golds so easy to get its not even a problem even if someone wants to waste their money. And skills are far more valuable. Try HR inferno and great luck potions and you can make some large amounts of gold. (practice it on normals first obviously if you arent familiar with it and its mobs)

yea defeats the purpose of armor/magic resist too. especially on faster attackers. it seems kinda bad to have in the game

It's also stupid to balance when we have things like Rondel dagger that turns into turbo nuclear Rondel with +true.
in my opinion the correct answer to this problem is to limit those stats at onlu phoenix and frost amulet,
what do u think?

Honestly I think the game would be better off without them entirely.

The problem of true damage is that it's either available in so small a quantity it's pointless and a dead stat or so much that it makes weapons with fast hit rates stronger just by number of hits alone.

But the damage formulas/outputs in DaD are kind of all over the map as-is either way so I'm not sure how much that would change overall.

PDR builds would dominate and there would be no way to counter them as certain classes as only some weapons have armor penetration.

PDR would have to be re-evaluated again, but I do not see true damage going away anytime soon.

That being said, no, its not that expensive and no, not all classes and builds rely on it equally, its bad for pretty much all slow weapons.
True damage is only the superior option when you build your stats incorrectly.

build them correctly (and learn to aim for the head, not the arms) and you'll do far more damage in the long run that way. You'll also spend a lot less, since the bad players buy up all the true damage as a crutch.

They should AT LEAST change it so it takes 1:1 of your damage and converts it to true damage rather than just adding an 1 more damage as true, makes no sense having a dagger deal 24, then up to 9+ additional damage as true damage? that's a joke.
