and yea HR is mostly just for players who want to rank, but its full of the sweatiest sweatlords and can be annoying. its even more annoying if you have to spend 30 mins in the market to buy a full kit again if you do get ran down by what the current op meta/class/build is. and having to meet a min GS req to even enter makes it faaaar more annoying too. I used to just buy a grey kit from the merchants or some random blues/greens they had in the gear I wanted then head back into HR and find my own gear as I went run after run. which was far more enjoyable than bring in the best of the best on repeat with no room for upgrades really. its fine to have an option as I too liked to make fun goofy builds and bring them in.. but every single match? come on now lol I dont want to do 1 run every 30 mins if im bad or a few runs then buy a new kit for 30 mins even if im good due to the balance issues/misc events. Game caters to the sweatiest players.
these are the guys who when we played call of duty and just had fun and could close the game whenever if irl came up they were in their dungeon lights off headphones so loud they have hearing issues within the next 5 years and listen for your footsteps coming by as they wait around a corner for you.. I mean cool I guess but at the end of the day this is a video game and people need to chill with trying to be the LCS streaming champion MLG 360 gamer pro youtuber playing for the 1 million$ cash prize... just have fun. But to each their own I guess lol. But I doubt its gonna change the devs seems to want to casual DnD goofy/fun theme to not exist. Imagine a DnD campaign irl going like this..
(just watch the youtube channel critical role) thats how DnD is supposed to be. This game should just rename and rebrand to fortnite 360 noscope MLG sweat convention tbh or something.

Thinking back to the early playtests...the BR circle...being designed around 3 man teams...good lord it's they just looked at something like Apex Legends and decided to slap that in a half-assed dungeon crawler.
Hell this "Balanced for trios" thing is part of the problem as to why Barb is so obnoxious, since SDF wants every class to supposedly 1v3...while ignoring the basic logic that if a class can already 1v3 how strong would that be with a team behind it?
There's just so many times that I've found myself saying "If my stupid ass can see the problem how did a team of supposedly professional developers miss it?" is off the charts in regards to DaD.
But if they add stats, that you can't get otherwise from other races you can get.. that is bad.
agree 100% the weirdest part is they're not trying to cash grab and drive the players away either which was my original suspicion so somehow they cant see it. I think its because they all play together in trios I doubt they actually play solos or play it enough to really see the core issues. They probably dont have a lot of personal experience within the game playing it vs coding it... because tbh if you worked ona game all day would you want to go home to play the same game you worked on more? maybe a little at most and obviously they have the people/numbers to always have trios which removes them from the personal experience of solos/duos and they likely play very little giving them a much smaller sample size too.
They need to from a completely unbiased approach play a lot of each even if just a couple weeks for a few devs of nothing but playing in each section of their game to get a real personal feel to it rather than numbers/data IMO
also agree, tho I wouldnt mind unique skins like a frog that has reduced speed on land, moves faster in water and gets increased jump height (which could be fun for the double jump rogues perk) or a vampire that can see in dark but torches/light is a blinding white light.
having the skins override on toggles for each section of the gear would be better than stuff that removes helmet access and gives barely any stats or the random stat things tho. having an option to toggle the skins effects on or off would be nice too so if you wanted to look like a frog you can without having the effects of jump/water/land speed things just purely as cosmetic.
Armor skins for types would be nice too. even class themes so you can override any armor for a class.
for example a barbarian could have white wolf pelts on back and horned helmets
fighters could have various looking knight armors
clerics could have the red/white templar theme (or paladins could)
rangers could have a more hooded robin hood type theme
rogues could have a pirate theme with hooks/hats and etc
all in various colors to choose from a color blender for each section the player can decide they want for their characters and a save/preset with multiple saves. I personally dislike the look of random gear pieces that are good but look bad for the outfit/theme I want.
also super rough making mates on here as well.
Some are nice to have in first 2 weeks of new wipe as they compensate lack of head slot from squire, but other than that, saying skins make noticeable difference is just a bad players cope.
You dont need to hope you maybe block or parry hits without damage , just bait a attack and then attack your selff . I can kill a horde of nightmare skeletons easy with it ....
