Dark and Darker

Dark and Darker

Can't win a single fight.
I do not get it. I'm fine in almost every multiplayer game, but I think I've made 2 kills out of 200 deaths in this. I've bought gear that seems competitive compared to who's killing me, I often out level, them, etc.

They seem to find me no matter what shadow I'm in or even if I'm invisible and one shot me no matter how much armor I have on.

I hit them constantly and do pretty much no damage. As soon as I see a player I'm dead unless I manage to maybe, just maybe, flee to an exit.

I've not won a single fight and I cannot figure out what in hell I'm doing wrong. I don't mind "getting gud" but I am starting to get really tired of losing every.. single.. fight which seems to be over in about 5 seconds. Barbarian roars, game over.

PS: It is doubly obnoxious that the cat races seem to be giving people like a whole item's worth of agility bonuses.

You mentioned invisibility. You playing rogue?

Because if you're playing rogue there are about 800 things you could be doing wrong. That is a class that, for the most part, only has one way to win each individual matchup.

I've used potions well before someone enters a room and they seem to home in on me anyway with other classes.

This season I've been playing Warlock, Bard, Druid and some Paladin. It seems like every match up is an enemy rushing me super fast and killing me in about a half second. Armor doesn't seem to matter at all and even if the gear scores are similar, it's not even really a fight.

It's so quick I can't seem to really learn what I'm doing wrong.. like 10 minutes of looting and then 3 seconds of fighting and death where I'm lucky if I land one blow before they either land 4, or do a one hit kill.

Basically I'm dying too fast to learn anything, and it's starting to feel like a horror stealth game where if I get detected, I'm dead.

You're going against people with 1000+ hours in the game right now this far along in the wipe. I too tried coming back after about 6 months away and have the same problem. I'm waiting for the next wipe to try again when everyone is in crap gear and lobbies might have new players in them again. That combined with the fact that every sweaty boy is juiced up running normal lobbies. Try sticking to <25 gear score or at least less than 125 gearscore if doing normals.

2 agility doesn't matter as much as you think it does, it also gives -1 str and -1 vig, so it balances out.

-1 str won't make the difference in breakpoints and neither will -1 vig, but 2 agi could be the difference
but yeah it still doesn't matter very much lol

Check out one of the streamers and watch what they do so that you can figure out where you are going wrong.

If you are using a potion to go invisible then always remember that they can hear you drink it and if they don't hear footsteps after it's kind of a give away. Anticipate that they know where you are in those situations and try to hit first.

lol yea invis potions are worthless i remember usng them when i was a noob and had the same experience of people just hitting me while invis. I guess it leaves an outline so invis pots basically just to drop agro off mobs for a few seconds? idk its stupid.

my warlock is like 6-280 KDR after probably 600 hours playing it....
my barb is like 30/60 KDR so i'd just play barb if i was you or fighter then you have a chance to just smack someone 2-3 times with bardice or longsword and win a fight

Started playing fighter as it was recommended for first timers, 3/4 fights i won easily, stab stab stab long Sword OP

I wouldnt call invis pots useless but they are a parlor trick at best in most cases. You use them to exploit enemy AI against a player.

Example, you aggro several rooms of monsters as a player chases you, then break line of sight and chug the potion. Now the monsters will be attacking the other player.

Or you can play mindgames with them. Turn out the torches on one side of a doorway, then stand in the well-lit side of the door as an enemy comes through and chug your potion there. He will assume you are in the shadows and expose his back, then you whack him.

It's dumb tricks like that. You aren't erasing your presence so much as you're screwing with somebody.

Your dying because the classes are still horribly unbalanced and combat is awful and I've done exactly what I said I was going to do by playing ANYTHING else but this horsecrap.

Then why you come here and cry again about your leaving this game. Delete it and forget.
P.S. you need to think in DnD how you gonna fight, it is not only about balancing classes.

The problem is that the game matches you with people who have 2,000 more hours than you, and that's garbage. It makes no sense to start a game and have to fight against people who have been playing it for two years, haha. This game needs MMR matchmaking or something like that... Anyway, that’s how these Korean geniuses are—a bunch of idiots.

How can I be crying when I've got a massive smile on my face ripping whats left of this pathetic game to shreds. Go complain on the comment I made about a sewage bath sounding more pleasant that playing this game again ; )
