Dark and Darker

Dying to rogue crouch walking and camping whole match = fun design?
Worst way to die in this game is dying to a crouching rogue that camps behind doors for eternity as soon as they hear the tiniest sound.

No outplay mechanics once you get caught similar to ranger trap. At least ranger trap you kind of get notice ahead of time as soon as you duke it out with a ranger you know you have to look out for possibility of trap and it kinda becomes your fault if you step on it. Where as rogue if you're a ranger, wizard or bard and you open a door without noticing a rogue being aware of you as soon as they're on top of you there's 0 outplay mechanics for those 3 classes.

Most unfun char to die to only rogue mains will defend this "play style" lmao

Don't worry, fighters and barbarians are just as screwed, even full plate can't stop a rogue from taking you down in about 2 seconds.

It's always the ones with just a stiletto too.

Probably 30% of my deaths in solo has just been to invisible, completely silent rogues, unfortunately i mostly play Wizard which on it's own is the worst to solo as so you can imagine my fun getting stabbed 3 times in 1 second and dying instantly. It's absolute garbage game design and I commend anyone who witch hunts these people after spotting these Hide/Creep/Mastery builds in the pre-game lobby, you're doing the world a service.

Isn’t that also the beauty of this game?

Skill is playing by taking advantage of the characteristics of each job.

Being 100% undetectable and insta killing players = skill now apparently

The game in its best form is a team game. If your playing very niche classes that have weaknesses you shouldnt complain when that weakness is exposed.

I'm a rogue, and I crouch walk so I can make as much noise as possible to AVOID people and extract, I am not confident in my PvP at all.

What happens when a cleric catches a tank barbarian with a Morning Star?

Cleric's role is heal.
I'm not going around killing like a dealer with a Morning Star.
We all know it and yet we just play the game

I'm a ranger, but if Rogue's stealth ambush is missing, where on earth is Rogue supposed to be?

Each job has its pros and cons.

We aren't complaining about the ambushes themselves. We are complaining about how it is impossible to save yourself when they happen. It is a certainty that the rogue will kill you in these situations regardless of what class you are. It's no fun if we know we have lost the moment we hear that first stab. We just want a chance to fight back.

It's up to you to accept it.

I also died quietly to Rogue,
While playing Rogue
I saw it even though it killed me

Fighters, Barbarians, and Clerics are better than you think.
It's hard to kill

Concentrate more while playing the game
I have no choice but to play with suspicion.

Really good players start to doubt themselves when the lights go out.

any class can beat others in the right circumstances , if i dont hide and jump out at you to stab you with my daggers then i die as a rogue. you cant just run up to a fighter/cleric/barb and just straight fight them in the open , you get cut down in a couple swings.

Also i will tell you right now that its absolutely not a insta kill to get a few surprise stealth attacks in on a cleric ect , ive had plenty of times where ive tried that , they survive turn around and clap me , and i see in the kill cam that i only got them down to half hp. if you gear your rogue towards absoloute maximum damage output then maybe the odds are far better , but you give up a lot of rogue utility to do that , stealth will only be a couple seconds on a near 30 sec cooldown , no free trap disarm or lockpicking ect. sure you can basically one shot a wizard if you catch them unaware , but thats what being a wizard is , glass cannon... if that wizard gets the drop on you out in the open then you are basically dead for sure. You cant stealth in the middle of a fight like a wiz can use invis either. all classes and play styles have pros and cons. ranger , wiz and bard will all wipe the floor with a rogue that isnt getting the first sneak attack in.

also you can look through doors you know , and not just the little windows but if you go right up to the door and then look down your view will pass through the door an you can check if someone is just sitting there waiting for you.

yes just pray they do not see your head clip through the door when you walk up to it and look down because they can wack you in the head. I killed a bard doing this

i think removing the muffled walk (i dont know the perks name) should be enough.
GrowinGanja Jul 12, 2024 @ 1:49am
or just dont allow hide and creep to be equipped at the same time...

This post sounds like a bunch of skill issues players crying about it.
