Shields when not equipped

They should still block shots if someone hits the shield on a players back. It should also block even if they are not using the block button, if the weapon makes contact with the shield.

I was fighting the skeleton defender or whatever the sword and shield guy is called, as a druid. I spawned a treeant on the other side of him, and he was fighting facing away from me. As I took my swings at his back, his shield still blocked my shots even though it was part of his *attack* animation to stick his shield behind him as he swings with the weapon. At all times, even when attacking, his shield blocks.

Players should do the same. It seems its already coded into the game. Should be an easy fix.

They can simply remove the pavise shield its too big, and nobody uses it. Obviously a 3s item that would be used in solo abusively. Alternately apply shields movement speed reduction even when not equipped. There enjoy your pavise and 150 move speed.

Im picturing call of duty modern warfare 2 20 years ago 3rd person with the riot shield on their back.

Pavises honestly should be onehanded shields (like IRL they are a line infantry shield) Give them a hefty movement debuff- so its only worth taking it with light armor.
