Dark and Darker

Dark and Darker

Let's consider Potato Mode (low end pc lowspec config) together.
Without further ado, let's go:
CPU: Intel i3 ~2.00Ghz x4
GPU: GeForce 940mx 2gb vram
16 gb RAM + SSD;

I can play the game already somehow and I quite enjoy it. With the code attached below I managed to run the game at barely bearable fps, which is like 20-40. Not too cybersporty, right? Let's check the settings and find out if there is a room for additional configurables to improve fps and latency.

oh btw you can reduce some numbers in gameuser settings in same folder as engine.
here:
[ScalabilityGroups]
sg.ResolutionQuality=80
sg.ViewDistanceQuality=1
sg.AntiAliasingQuality=0
sg.ShadowQuality=0
sg.GlobalIlluminationQuality=0
sg.ReflectionQuality=0
sg.PostProcessQuality=0
sg.TextureQuality=0
sg.EffectsQuality=0
sg.FoliageQuality=0
sg.ShadingQuality=0

where do you put these settings, engine?
The Jonkler Aug 6, 2024 @ 5:02pm
You can add -DX11 to the launch command. Just that alone made my FPS much better than running DX12 by default.
Solo Pk'er Aug 6, 2024 @ 5:22pm
any chance for screenshots ?
Solo Pk'er Aug 6, 2024 @ 5:36pm
ive used this before scenecolorformat will break underline in spellcasting or something similar, you have to remove both entries
where did you get this
Thane Aug 6, 2024 @ 7:56pm
why tf are you trying to online game with an i3 and 900 series in 2024?
Iceberg Simpson Aug 6, 2024 @ 9:49pm
