Yeah I've never had him drop more than two. He dies right after the second one, which is why I think the 25% threshold is wrong. It feels more like 40%.

ye exactly same happened to me, on second rockfall, he died after a only few slams

I main barbarian and have killed him. Circle right but just out of range of his swipe, when he swipes, go in, hit anywhere, get out. He usually goes into an upward swing or goes into a big charged swipe combo, you can duck that. The key is to not get too far or he shouts, if that happens just go to his side and you can hit the head.
