Does the rank matter?

This season inside our fav HR's lobbies it's not weird to encounter a demi-god/examplar while you're wanderer and at the same time Q'ing w/ neophyte.

I'm not the best player so far but it's quit unfair right?
As a neophyte on my Ranger for example (cos I'm new trying this class for fun) I don't really wanna die against an examplar player who's overall better than me in every aspect.

So my question is because I never asked myself even tho I play since the first betas, do the ranks matter for the matchmaking?

Ranks only matter as much as they do to you personally.

The other day in normals I had some idiotic Barbarian break through the door to the room I spawned in like the koolaid man and immediately attack me. His assault failed, and I killed him. He then ranted in private messages for fifteen minutes about how I was level 200+ and just griefing timmies and I should be ashamed of myself.... which was hilarious.

So, depending on a persons mental fragility, it matters. In reality, it doesn't. Rank gives you no benefit, nor do levels beyond 15. At the moment its just a measurement of how much you are playing the game. And do remember that most people play games for a long time and continue to be not very good at them.

And if that doesn't convince you, all I can say is that in the past they did separate HR rank brackets and it was a highly unpopular experience. So, devs tried it, learned from it, we're in a better place now. Can't ask for more than that.

There's no gear score brackets or anything in high roller it's anything goes.

I'm not a new player thanks mate but yeah rank should matter a minimum.
It's not bcos I'm a Voyager on my main than I'm as skilled with an another chara sadly but it's the game I ain't really complaining I was mainly curious.

In every comp game rank matters, and you're being delusionnal here. A faceit 4k elo will rekt a faceit 2k elo, a global will be better than a nova, a pred will be better than a platine, a GC will be better than a champion, A radiant will rekt an imo and so on. Rank matters... I could have thousands of hours and be a dawgshit against someone else with much less hours than me and my rank will reflect my skill aswell. Sorry I got triggered ahah, got over 15.000 hours in comp games and I know that rank matters in every game, will reflect a game sens nor individual skill.

I'm not playing a lot of class, I got my main and a secondary and playing some other class for fun, I was just wondering cos I might know the game or be good with X class, when I'm using a class I'm bad with I have to Q with some insane guy that I have no clues how to fights with my actual class, idc about the levels or the playtimes, like you said every one is different; but as a Neophyte with a ranger I wouldve like to Q with noobs like me otherwise I'd take the class I'm good and more comfy and with a better rank to play against better guys with a similar or close elo and this is commun sens

Buuut at the end it is what it is I'll just get better with my class and cry until I'm better with aha, anyway thanks guys coz I did had no clue and yall replied thank you :)
