you seem to have a problem with people that are more competitive.
they work harder, so they get better rewards..
they do this because they want to be more powerful, they want to have an edge in the competition, which is the whole point of this extraction genre.
My reply is a reaction to the problem you mentioned "because the common complaints seem to revolve around power and stat stacking". I just don't think SSF removes this problem, as ppl with the more time will still be power/stat stacking, ableit at a slower pace then they'd have access to the market.
i mean people with blue gear can still own legendary gear people, there is skill expression.
SSF would make bad players learn the game instead of them relying in gear/meta.
like, how many times have i completely outplayed my opponent but simply lost because they statchecked me with their optimized gear.. with SSF it would make people to think twice before engaing in combat. its a far greater loss when you need to gather pieces by yourself. you can't just hold W and be like ''yeah cos i got better gear i will win when i facecheck them'' it'll make them think more about the engagement since it wont be as easy for them to build another good kit again.
its like dark souls.. every time you lose, you need to do the mechanic better instead of just re-gearing and beating the opponent simply because of your powerlevel.
it forces people to learn more than just grabbing an easy op kit because you have gold for it. the fear of losing it and starting over in effect.
I always have an Edge in everything like i'm edging to this comment right now
If the game had millions of players, sure.
Look back before they capped true damage gains for an example, and I still hold that Move Speed is another one that shouldn't be something that can be stacked either (especially via Lightfoot Boots).
And that's not even touching the sheer IDIOCY that was +All affixes.
- disabled trading on market
- disabled trading with other players
- no shared stash with your other characters
- you can only enter solo
There must be one change in quest done though - at Fortune Teller "Sacrifices Must Be Made". Can't resurect others in this mode so quest is incompletable.
Question is:
should SSF players play vs only other SSF players or everyone?
If the first option - it would split playerbase too much imo.
If the second option then there is still possibility to "cheat" the SSF system and have your friend pre-join same solo lobby with gear that could be given to you. I know it's forbidden now but that does not mean it will not happen.
