Blue escape icons not usable once match time low

I've found a couple that are usable all round, and I've managed to find and use the portal...

However there's an icon which i THINK is the rope... as well as the stairs.. both blue obv. I'll get over, hide around until half-way through the match... and nothing...

My first thought was, "am I on the wrong floor?" however, I can't seem to find multiple floors which would explain this on some of the other edge escape spots.

I'm not having too much trouble getting to them, which would be an escape.. but then I can't actually, figure out when or how they activate, and eventually get bored, wander, and die...

Most of them do not open until last 6-3 minutes.
Also, they are one time things, so another player could already took it, locking it out for others.

Portals usually have 3 escapes available in goblin caves and castle. The boats in the ice level might spawn every 2 - 3 minutes. The ropes in goblin caves usually pop at the 6 minute mark like Katitoff said. Look up and you can kind of see the ropes dangling. Stairs are hit or miss :(

Your kill feed gives valuable info sometimes, so you can kind of guess who died next to or on the way to an extract around those times.

Icon never changes on the map, but actual escape changes.
Ropes are, well, not there.
Crypt and ice cavern exists have no lights, goblin caves exists are caved in.
