Rogue tips for holding my own at lower levels?
Only very recently picked this up for free, only have one slot and I've decided to use it on a rogue for the time being cause I don't feel like resetting my progress to try another class at this point. I've mostly focused on trying to get good at the PvE and extracting while evading conflict, and my build reflects that. But I've noticed my damage really falls off any time I end up in a player conflict. (My only kill so far is against a distracted Druid in panther form.)

I'm wondering what adjustments I should make to my skills and general playstyle to start bridging that gap.

SKILLS:
Hide, mostly for scouting out noises and setting up player ambushes.
Rupture For sweet DoT on tough enemies, especially on throwing knives.

PERKS:
Hide Mastery so I have more time to lurk.

Stealth so I'm not a sitting duck in Hide.

Poisoned Weapon for more DoT, good in PvE too.

Traps and Locks. I get it's definitely not a PvP meta skill, but since I've mostly been focusing on PvE, looting, and gradually learning the maps, I really REALLY like being able to channel my inner AD&D Thief, disarming traps and unlocking big chests with nice expensive gear for my teammates or gold stash.

I run mostly just stock Rapier cause the range makes PvE a lot easier, and daggers felt AWFUL when I first started. But if I wanted to run a dagger on the side, would taking off maybe Hide Mastery or Poisoned Weapon to get the 15% boost from Dagger mastery be enough to make it worth using for an ambush? Or at least worth using to kinda wean off the Rapier crutch? I know it can't be GOOD good for even low level pvp unless I knock traps and locks off for a damage perk but since I don't go for fights usually, the QoL and vibe of being "the lockpick thief" in my trio is so nice imo.

Playstyle wise. I'm mostly just bringing stock stuff out, clearing rooms with it, and going for loot from chests to sell. In solos I kill the lights wherever I go, and in a group I end up either taking point and kiting for mages, or letting the fighter take point and flanking around. Around players I either avoid those rooms entirely, hide in shadows to go through unnoticed, or get jumped and die.
