I have litteraly 0 issues with shield, except with some tricky weapons
I understand that my post is a lot of text, but I got this covered in there.
I watched multiple videos to see if I can catch something that I was missing.
No, I literally get hit THROUGH the shield in 2 out of 3 pvp encounters by anyone in melee. I specifically watch death cam from the first person perspective to see what I did wrong. It's like it doesn't even matter if my shield is in the way or not, the blood splatter comes through the shield when the weapon hits the shield (when I hold RMB, obviously) with the sound of hitting the body. And I get full damage.
I don't even get half-blocks.
My blocking in PVE is almost 100% success, unless I really ♥♥♥♥ up or get distracted. But in PVP it doesn't work majority of the time no matter what I do.
It very often feels more biased towards the latter.
he only plays sword and shield fighter and he does great in pvp gets a lot of kills. He has a video guide on blocking and he breaks down all his fights saying what happened. Really good for fighters/shield users to watch.

I already wathed that. I tried to do what he does as well.
I. GET. HIT. THROUGH. THE. SHIELD.
Only in pvp, roughly ever 2 out of 3 encounters.
OR! Why is that that other medieval action games it's working, but here - ♥♥♥♥ all?
Even in PVE there are issues, ACKNOWLEDGED issues with being hit through the shield if player stands too close to the mob or some funky stuff happens.
Like ice caverns spear skeletons, for example. Unless you KNOW to back up from them, the spear WILL go through the shield and WILL hit you.
What to me seems is happening is that this issue is being massively exaggerated by server-client communication delay.
But we also not allowed to see our ping, so it's a guessing game.
aside from that i really hate the fact that blocking is very very different from what you see in pov both for shield and longsword it took alot of messing up to get used to where the hitboxes really are. some overall qol changes for hitboxes would help but i really dont want to see more shield turtle strats just longsword lol
I feel like it's some sort of client-server issue. Because besides clipping through when player and mob models intersect up close - it works great in PVE, when it's only MY information is being peocessed by the server.
As soon as other people start to get involved, the entire blocking mechanic ♥♥♥♥♥ itself on my end. As I explained multiple times, I watch the replays, I watch them in third and in first person to see what happened. I see that my model is being covered. And I see blood splatter flying through the shield, at a point where its not supposed to.
