is dungeonborne better than DaD ?
tomorrow starts the the Dungeonborne beta and its looks good . Waht are the main differences between those 2 games ? Also i am finally Voyager Rank in the leaderboard with only PvE and it nearly sucked all life force out of me because everytime i was near rank up , some A-holes killed me even i said im peacefull or have no Gear . (PvP dont give points this season )

pvp may not give points but the loot you have on you does

and no dungeonborne is not better if you want you can look up how that game plays on youtube
most players don't kill for loot they do it because they can

Dungeonborne is going for a much more flashy almost hero-shooter approach to classes and abilities with maps that are designed to forever be static.

Dark And Darker is going for a more lower-key RPG experience with maps that will eventually be randomly generated as they're designed to be modular.

Both will appeal to different types of people with some overlap, but personally I like the look and feel of Dark And Darker more.

Dungeonborne is not bad it's just felt like the opposite side of this genre of FPS. This feels like the more hardcore aged to perfection barrel whiskey with a nice glass and a perfect ice cube. Dungeonborne feels more like a energy drink not bad but not my cup of coffee.

But, I'm in the discord and teaser wise etc been a lot of progress and changes like crazy to the game it looks like. Looking forward to taking it for another test run shortly here see what it has been crafted into.

I played the last playtest, Perfomance was good, UE5 Graphic was nice, but combat feels for me like im playing a game like roblox, minecraft with UE5. That was my expir...

the swinging has like no power behind it and it feels just so weird lol
even with headshots the mobs take the same amount of hits...feels like im taking forever just for a little goblin lul

I played it for 1-2 hours and sadly its bad .
Pros(+) are :
- Some Enemie design looking good and combat behavior is nice (those fuging Ghosts turning invisble and attacking walls HaHA , scared me )
- Maps looking good
- LoadingScreen Pictures looking nice
- Movement Speed dont felt like having Doodu in Pants
- Stats increase with Level up

Cons(-) are :
- some enemies looking like they made for a Playstation 2 game (Goblins , Tentacles)
- Combat Animations are bad
- No Skills System . Every Class have 2 Active Skills . Which means no Longtime Motivation
Also Skills on item types gives me the feels developers try to hide the lack of Skills and feels way to long to reload them .
- Nearly No Loot in Crates and Barrels . Very often only Low Anmount of Gold . Which means Trinkekts spawn always at the same places and or randomly in Chests .
- Quest System feels bad and lower the value of Gold , Quest rewards are bad .


conclusion : No longtime motivation . The game does not need a Path of Exile level of Active/passive skill system but at least put more effort into it . The game will lose 80-90 % of players after 1 - 2 months .

nah played the last test and the ongoing one and the game feels like ♥♥♥♥.. Feels like game for mobile or something. DaD is way better and smoother. Also game feels like its straight up copying DaD in every way :D the sounds you can hear in the game are exactly the same as DaD.. The only thing i liked about it is classes like Deathknight, Cryomancer..

Been playing the test and…I’m conflicted. There’s a lot more polish there compared to Dark And Darker but that comes at the expense of everything feels locked down. While there’s a bunch of different builds you can do in DaD because each class has a number of swappable options, in Dungeonborne I genuinely feel like the class I pick is me picking which hero to play in Overwatch or something. They function exactly one way, get two abilities that are design to work in tandem with one another, and they have one play style and that’s it. On top of that dungeonborne combat feels like it was meant to be ARPG combat while DaD feels more like Mordhau or Chivalry. Dungeonborne could absolutely be good but they need to add a LOT more to the game in terms of classes and customization options for playstyles, their more arcadey combat loop does not lend itself well to the restrictions it has. And as rough as DaD is around the edges, its combat loop and how it ties in to the classes as far more refined.

I’d love to see Dungeonborne succeed so that both games can be healthy competition and inspire improvements and fixes in one another while offers different flavors of the same experience for people who want different things but as it stands I don’t see it really taking over DaD like some people seem to think it will.
