Funny thing is, he never answers my question when I ask him if he actually played any of the playtests.
Cause if he did, he'd know it's not some kind of superior verison of DaD at all...
That's the problem of every niche games sadly. This is why Mordhau is in a terrible state rn and only played by its die hard fans. And there's plenty of similar examples.
Even for triple A titles we can see a similar drop of the playerbase during the next weeks past the release. We have to dissociate "hyper gamers" from trully interested players.
Morally, logically, not legally - it should be removed for being (a bad thing that spreads and self-replicates rapidly with extreme difficulty in removing it that ultimately kills the host)
edit: cant talk about medical conditions on Steam
Well this game in its current state will not be able to hold players.
There is just no content.
Some good changes would be:
- a bar brawl mode without loot (so players can just kick each others butt)
- a PVE mode where a group of several players needs to fight trough a wast dungeon to then kill a strong endboss
- Some kind of reward system better than the atm all 10 levels a useless piece of gear. Something compatable like Overwatch had for the leveling (skins, sprays and so on)
- a go deep mode with ranking for deepest approach. (a mode where players need to go deeper and deeper into a dungeon, either work together or against each other to reach the deepest possible stage, while monsters on each stage become stronger and stronger. Basicaly there is loot but to get down you need to claim a key that drops from npcs to open the gate to the next level)
For me personaly this game is way to dull atm, there is nothing im working toward and it dont feels like a high speed action Moba/shooter or alike. So the pace is slow, and there is no reward at all. So no wonder people just leave after repeatedly did some dungeons.
And for this game a random dungeon generator would have been way more effective, so people would not be able to memorize the dungeons.
also anything more than 5k is still incredibly playable, and thats being generous. even at 1k a game would be active enough to play pretty much whenever with no issues.
not defending the other game, never heard of it till now. just dont like the logic.
Stop obsessing over statistics you don't understand.
Haven't seen Dungeonborne's mimic model though so idk if it's the same one or not.
You will continue playing this game for years. And you will continue making posts like this.
One has to wonder what actually brings you happiness.
Anyway, it had a fairly strong growth trend for a few weeks (unusual and good) then went in the other direction. The decline is completely normal and given that you've played this game for a long time, you know exactly what is going on. The further into a season an extraction game gets, the lower the population dips. Start of a new season, particularly one with big content update, gets a big boost again.
None of this has to be explained to you, jaded as you are, you already know all of this to be true and are just looking to flap your gums for the hell of it.
