hand crossbow, short sword, stiletto dagger, hatchet can all only be used in your left hand, as opposed to other one-hand weapons, that you can only equip in your right hand, and all bows are two handed
this is an rpg, so equipment having specific properties and requirements is very much intended
Why can't the short sword be equipped in right hand? It seems arbitrary. And I know that bows are equipped with two hands, but it looks like my bow is being fired as if I was left handed. I can't fire the bow as a righty?
that is correct
Just curious, Does anyone know know why it was set up this way? Kind of awkward, as I'm right-handed.
having weapons as fast as the short sword and the hatchet, with their sufficient reach, being available for use with a shield would completely change the current melee combat dynamic
and in real life, you hold the shaft of your bow with your left hand and draw the arrow with your right one
controlling the arrow gives you the fine precision you need to hit targets, where holding the shaft only gives you a general direction of where youre aiming
therefore the right hand is more suited for drawing the arrow, nevermind also holding the bowstring taut during aiming
