it does technically work but this game is not designed for it. Managing your loot is a nightmare and "advanced" fighting mechanics (such as contorting your body to dodge), blocking, ect is bad on controller.

Ftr, I use a controller every time I can and I dont here. Its just not viable.

edit- Forgot to mention, it also doesn't change the HUD/UI (aka even with controller its telling you to press Q, E, spacebar, ect).

It works fine for everything but inventory management. You might also want to rebind certain functions like crouch and reload.

I play on Controller and it works reasonably well via Steam input, though you'll probably need to adjust the mouse speed settings to your taste.

Inventory management is indeed a bit of a problem though, if you have a mouse I'd suggest still using it for that specifically, but for everything else it's quite comfortable imo.

Controller support works quite well for everything aside from inventory but even then it's serviceable.

They're planning support just haven't finished it yet.
