These balance changes are just stupid. Like, why buff warclock multiple times, when he's already a pain in the ass to deal with, so now 40-50% of the lobby is warlock.
And they also butcher wizzard so nobody's playing him
1st because i think they can't improve without money
2nd because the ftp model is decend
3rd because i payed more for games that made less fun
Let's all hope, they get it right. And FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, plz tilt the bow to the right not to the left, palm downwards not upwards. When it comes to how a ranger holds his bow, they made every wrong they possibly could. As an archer myself, it is like seeing a fighter holding his sword by the blade, instead of the handle xD
They launched the game off steam almost a year ago, 1 year have passed and the game still faces the same problem, its not going to get better, just look at the last patch, they don't test anything, warlock one of the most op and played classes got buffed for no reason, and 3 days later they nerfed it again, they have no idea in how to balance the game.
It's almost like they were being sued by a corporation because said corporation thought that having skeletons in your game was copyright infringement because they too had skeletons in their game.
I don't give a ♥♥♥♥. I find the game fun. Nothing you say or do is going to make me not find it fun lmao
I can also attest that despite this, game is fun and devs are worth supporting. Unsupported devs tend to have little motivation to fix grievances.
As for the whole "catering to streamers" thing, I'd say a few of them do definitely have the devs ears but there isn't this massive disconnect between the average streamer and the average timmy. The devs spend a lot of time in discord listening to feedback. If anything, THAT is the reason balance swings around so much. They should, if anything, learn to stop listening to the average player so much. Or at the very least, every moron who knows how to type in all caps.
I'm sure in the high roller dungeons once I rank up a bit I'll be back to the same issue of getting kited by cloth wearing warlocks with infinite heals, but IMO it beats what I can only describe as bullying going on in the normal tier 25-299.
if it was a 2.2b company handling the game, it would be up in smoke last year, imagine ordering a pizza in a restaurant and getting served chiken pie, warm sushi, burger or kung pow repeatedly, over and over again, thats what happens when theres a board/shareholders with devnuts firmly in their grip. 10000% the game is in good hands currently
its an engine issue and balance issue (i.e spell ok for trios but absolutely BFG solos, its unsolvable)
the game was constructed from the ground up as a trio, every single complaint on reddit here or whatever ABSOLUTELY 100000% is attributed to this simple fact. And the ONLY way to solve ALL (99.89786%) of the complaints/problems/bugs etc is to reengineer it to solo.
That, and the policing of mass f2p accounts (cheats)
The really hard reality of it is the copycat isgoing to be shinier, newer, more resources both monetarily and development behind it, you can see this even with just the UI work they've done. I've watched the gameplay, it's not arcadier, it's still skill-based and it feels like a complete copy/paste of this game with some tweaks to ability count and classes. (You can watch streamers playing closed beta) Not to mention it's a company that specializes in MMORPGS, i'm sure they will figure out how to balance the classes out.
I don't know, but it appears that IronMace is maybe crossing their fingers and banking on their die-hard sweats to carry this game, which is why they are catering to them and not newer players... but idk, perhaps not that would be an insanely stupid strategy. The second that other game drops and becomes remotely popular, the more people are going to think the original is the copycat. IM needs to re-innovate this game to where they feel like two completely different games. It needs to be like a fish that jumps into a completely different pond and I don't know how to pull off that miracle, they're gonna need Jesus.
It makes me sad especially with all of the passion in this game, the ordeals they went through, all the legal drama surrounding it - I hate to see the underdogs with the passion to create this, get ripped off by not just any company, but THE shovelware-mmo cashgrabiest abandonware company that exists. An entitled ass company that thinks it owns it's employees and their ideas and dreams. Screw NEXON. They took the idea and stole it hoping IM's idea will make them the pioneers of something instead of being known as that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ company where MMORPGS go to die.
