-SOME BASIC TIPS FOR NEWBIES-
Since I'm seeing a lot of people not realizing the following, I figured I'd make a quick thread detailing some things to help y'all along.

-THE SQUIRE HAS FREE ♥♥♥♥
Go to the merchants tab and talk to the Squire, you can swap out your basic equipment that you keep forever even through deaths.

-EXTRACTION POINTS SHOW UP AS BLUE ICONS ON YOUR MINIMAP
-Portals (Marked by a P Icon) spawn pedestals you interact with to spawn a portal, step in to it to leave.
-Stairs (Marked by a stair icon) are just stair wells that lead out of the map.
-Ropes (Marked by a rope/chain icon) can just be interacted with to climb out of the map.

All of these only become available to actually use when the timer bar is about 75% full. Portals will slide out of the ground. Stairs will have their gates open and torches will light, and Ropes will fall down from the cieling.

-Rafts (Marked by a boat icon) drift out of the map and extract anybody on them when they leave.
-Lifts (Marked by a platform icon) lower down from a shaft and then extract anybody on them when they are pulled back in to the shaft.

Both of these can appear at any point during the match.

-POTIONS GLOW ON YOUR BELT AND GIVE YOU AWAY IN DARKNESS
If you take off any potions you have on your belt and keep them stored in your bag, then any deep shadow you are completely invisible in. Light fall-off from torches and other light sources is way shorter than you think and you don't often realize just how invisible you really are in a dark spot. Use this to your advantage to hide if you hear another player coming around.

-YOU CAN BREAK THE POTS AND BOXES
They usually have stuff in them.

-YOUR CHARACTER DOESN'T GET STRONGER PAST LEVEL 15
Once you have all 4 perk slots, that's it. It's all gear and game knowledge from there.

Don't try to go around killing other players until you're more comfortable with the game. Spend your first few hours learning how to fight monsters and move around the maps, memorizing layouts and how to get from room to room. If you stumble upon an extraction point, try to stay around that point and learn the map in the vicinity, killing mobs and looting until the point opens up. If you happen to get attacked by another player, do your best to fight back but if you're just going in with your starter gear, you didn't lose anything. Learn from it and remember that dying repeatedly is part of the game.

Have fun o7

Personally I think the devs should bring back that little manual system they had during the play tests. That have stuff like this, at the very least information on the escapes, that seems to be the biggest thing that people struggle with early on.
