PvPvE games rarely work
sometimes its the devs fault, sometimes its the games fault, but usually its a certain group of players fault. You always end up with a minority of no life PvP players who ruin the experience for the majority of players which stops them from wanting to continue to play.

Then the no lifers start to cry and whine online when the devs decrease PvP elements because the devs want to actually let people enjoy their game. But by that point the game has usually been infected by the no lifers toxicity so the game is ruined for anyone but the people with 200+ hours.

So what i think the best solution would be is to add limited PvE only dungeons for new players to grind and learn to play the game before they begin doing higher level PvPvE dungeons which gives better rewards, this way they dont immediately have to deal with no lifers.

well, you seem cool, so I'll warn you, I play on USw. green lizard barb, I'm not hostal nor friendly, so, yeah. also, I only play gobo caves

I'm on USe most of the time, really I don't bother fighting most of the time either if nobody swings at me first (probably gets me killed more often than not).

...Though I do seem to attract legions of Warlocks for some reason.

I grew up playing UO, you'd step out side town and get ambushed by PK waiting in bushes w/ crossbows to mug you, so I'm used to such things

this is exactly how it was handled in sea of thieves

limited rewards in the pve mode and is more focused on being a tutorial that ease people into the high seas

all the pvp focused players cried and said it would be the death of the game and the bs line of longer queue times / empty servers ...neither is a problem for the game because as long as 5-6 people want to play the game in that region you will always have a fully lobby

I know what a cult following can do for a game, and this game already has one, this influx of new players is just that a influx, it will wane and settle and then things will hopefuly go to what it should

Worked so well they had 4k players on blacksmith prior to steam release.
60k Owners Prior To Being Released On The Biggest Online Marketplace.

Now There's Above 200k Owners.

Whining About There Not Being A PvE Mode Is Like Playing Crash Bandicoot And Complaining About No Multiplayer. Or Playing Titanfall And Asking Where The Story Mode Is.

There's No Plans For It, And It's Literally Not The Game You're Looking For If You Want That.

Once someone gets some experience on PvE the PvP desire will kick in. Playing with other people, teaming up, squad vs squad... this is the real fun in the end for games like this. It is for me, but this game in particular has become near impossible to let you take that first step because of the trolls who farm noob servers (goblin, solo) just to do it/easy loot/afraid of a challenge. I've put plenty of time in on multi player games and gone through the paces. This is just a grief fest.

Because these sorts of games are the kinds of things that suck people in and they want to spend hundred to thousands of hours in them. When you have a bunch of games that are just Tarkov with a different skin, there's no reason to play anything that isn't Tarkov. The reason DaD and HSD stood out is because they offered something completely unique while continuing the formula in their own way.

It's the exact same problem that every MMO out there ran in to when trying to compete with World of Warcraft back in the day. Every single company had to make their "WoW Killer" at $15/mo with near identical tab-target gameplay, and because of that it put them all in direct competition with the game everybody was already putting all their time in to, and so every single one of them that didn't offer something wildly different went Free to Play and scraped by a living enough to keep the servers on.

People only have so much time in the day, and they're more inclined to spend that time on the already successful and wildly popular game that has plenty of other players and is guaranteed a lengthy lifespan than they are on a nearly identical experience without those things.
