Well, get rid of your friend then. Problem solved!
He plays melee aswell
You might want to read again, I did not mention any issue from my mate here
One of you go ranger or mage then?
Fighter can take a crossbow without the weapon mastery perk. They can use any bow/crossbow with the weapon mastery perk. If you want some range on a fighter you need to build your class accordingly. Perks + weapons
I mean we could, but that's not our fighting style in games at all.. We both like melee so that's a huge problem as we are being taken down VERY easily as soon as there is a support or a mage
What is wrong with the balance, if there is even one ?
There is balance, if they matchmade by level and gear you would end up with dead lobbies. We have already seen GBMM lobbies dead previously before the steam release, now imagine adding another matchmaking system of top of that.
Also casters are usually worse playing melee to begin with, might want to create pressure on them and parry the melee teammate in the meantime
nope its just gear
if the lvl 278 wants to remove his gear and go pick on new players its all fine and dandy and everyone will say you are dumb if you think it should be different
Well, it should be :)
More levels equals more time spent on that game, which NORMALLY and OFTEN means more experience, more knowledge.
Matching this against a newbie discovering the game ? It does not make much sense.
Call me dumb if you wish, but that's not how a " match-making " should work
You're not dumb, you're just wrong. Watch the lobbies die due to lack of players in matchmaking when you implement GBMM and level matchmaking
