Normal lobbies. 480+ gear score

Played 3 matches with my trio group tonight. We all had 15 - 19 gear score going in. All three matches we got stomped by trios that had two plays of 480+ gear score, and one dead team mate we couldn't spectacle. How is this happening?

I love this game, all three of us got it a week ago, bought legendary status, and some new races. But this will make us quit. I'm ready to join the PvE crowd. Any insight on how this happens?

someone did have over 24 gear score though, something like "25"

We didn't though, we were suspicious of it, and discussed our gear score before we readied up. All of us between 15 - 19. That's why I'm wondering if there's an exploit or something.

I didnt see anyone with higher than 24 in lobby once, while i play under 25, if you in lobby check gear of anyone, if it is higher than you not in <25 que and can meet 400 gear score

you can check your friends gear as well, just to be sure

We did, we took screenshots of our gear score and posted then in our discord. 15 - 19 for us, the people who killed us were 480+

maybe they did break something after servers where down, i didn't play tonight

Yep, can confirm not even need the boss just a good setup with lots of luck items. You can grab the big luck potion and 2 green rings for luck and you are not gonna go over 24 gear score. If you combine this with the knowledge of where too loot than you can do that easy. And that knowledge does not neccesary mean he is a player who spend a lot of time in this game, it might be just someone who actually when starting to play a game like this watches some guides, instead going blindly and calling everyone a cheater.

it's because they don't count individually, they unite the total gear rating from the team, so even if them all had 10, the game would see it as 30

No it does not, it takes the highest score of the team, meaning if two players would have 10 and one 25, they would go to the high gear score lobbies.

A few days ago I saw somebody with a Purple weapon in the pregame Solo lobby.

I double checked my GS and it was 9, perhaps something is screwy with the matchmaking servers at the moment? It's been either instant or taking a long time in the pregame lobby tonight for me with no in between.

Experienced this as well. Got insta killed by a rogue with purple items. Granted I was just a bard with starting items but seems fishy to be in the same lobby.

I thought this happened to us too. But no, my team mate actually just didn't check his gear/gear score and hit ready and assured me that he was under 25.
Seems kinda strange you guys are taking screenshots of your loadouts before you queue and sharing them in discord just to prove you're not going over 25..
