Dark and Darker

PSA: Use the Squire
Found in the Merchants tab, the Squire lets you set up a starting set of gear that is often better than whatever the default is. This includes bandages and potions as well as potentially alternative weapon and armor options based on whatever class you are playing. The quantity (not quality) of items goes up as you increase your affinity with the other merchants.

Yeah, really feels like it's people that have already been through the trouble of learning this and refuse to accept that it's a poor design or at the very least needs something in-game.

I would never look at merchants and think one of them (as you said) would let me change my starting items. I would expect that they are all....well....merchants.

I heard about the squire from a random guy in-game. I ignored all the merchants because I had no money and was learning the game. I had 0 reason to click on them all and look into them because they are called merchants and I have no money.
People like you are literally the reason why UX became such a big deal, because you literally lack any and all kinds of curiosity and basic impulses to explore features of the software you engage with. I swear to God, this is such a nothingburger of a complaint.

Yeah, user experience is a big deal in games. Clearly you are not a dev and don't know how good design works.

This is so baffling to me and not only in case of this game. What happened to people clicking around menus, reading tooltips, visiting wikis?
Basic laws of the universe, energy takes the shortest route to equilibrium, in my case equilibrium is filling in a small informational void.

What's more energetically demanding and thus time consuming for me, or anyone in my situation wanting to use a below average amount of deductive abilities in the shortest amount of time, simply because of the task at hand?
A task which has established parameters being the following.

Me already cruising an especially frequented discussion forum
and asking a quick question on, you know,
this specifically designed to talk about the subject my question pertains to forum,
assuring me,
as proven above that an answer will arrive in mere seconds, where all I have to do is press the green bell icon without ever leaving the steam window (I don't even need to alt-tab or switch desktops, since steam is already open and on display on my 32:9) or,
oooor,
get this genius take,
re-do all the work that has already been done by several other members of the tribe present on the forum (this is where said average deductive abilities come in handy, you have to deduce that people who like and understand the game and are passionate about it, will be found on the aforementioned forums), therefore wasting some of my precious time that I instead used right now to school you children?

Most of that info is literally in the game. -
I'm tired of games pandering to dumb people. This isn't a Paradox game, you literally just need a basic level of reading comprehension.

*I walk up to a staircase icon and the door is closed.*
“Oh so this must activate at the last 5 minutes of a match and will collapse if i go through it”
Wow it really was that easy sorry man.

Seriously though i don’t understand the third degree?
Most “guides” on steam are heavily outdated as its been years since this game has been on here.

Looking at the wiki and taking crafting for example- it fails to mention the current system of rolling out quest recipies every week each new wipe to avoid day-1-ruby-gear.

Not everything is intuitive.
