Total waste of time and effort.
Not for me, out of here
Did you not read or understand what this game was? This is a full loot extraction game. Like Tarkov and many others. Did you actually think you get to keep your items when you die?
What's the point then?
On one hand I would be happy to find that special shiny item and on the other I wouldn't use it so I won't lose it?
Doesn't make sense, really.
Anyway, have fun guys, I am off to other games where I feel every run brings me closer to a better build.
The point is you don't lose. You kill them and take their shiny stuff.
hardcore pvppve games be like that not for everyone but ye thanks
There's plenty of goals to work towards in the game as-is.
There are quests you can complete every season that allow you to improve the shopkeepers you buy gear from. This means you can buy higher grade gear, receive additional free gear from the squire, and unlock new crafting recipes to build new gear from materials you find in the dungeon.
The meta goal of the game is the seasonal rewards you can earn through High-roller (once the leaderboards are enabled again). This allows you to earn special (permanent) cosmetics once the current season ends with rewards being made available at the start of the next season. Additionally, the devs have said they want players to later get personal rooms where they can display trophies and loot they get from the dungeons but exactly how that will be implemented in the future remains to be seen.
This is an early access title and, for that reason, you should have some level of patience while the devs implement additional forms of meta progression for players. One aspect of the game that might be helpful to you is the dungeon recovery system offered by the Goblin Merchant. If you die in the dungeon he can sell you back some of your gear so you don't lose as much progress. I'm not personally too familiar with exactly how it works though since it is a relatively new feature and I tend to forget about it since I have a bunch of gear already stored up anyways that I can fall back on.
At the end of the day, though, I don't think most people get too attached to their gear and, to an extent, expect to lose it eventually in the pursuit of greater riches/quest completion.
