Chivalry 2.
WURM Online.
It kind of depends on which class you want the game to be, cause this is the only game I know of that lets you play different classes.
There is allegedly a PvE mode that's accessible, but in the same way a game like World of Warships has a PvE mode (highly restrictive as to prevent progression outside of the standard modes). Recent beta testers have said the developer is actually limiting how many times (if I recall, per day) you can play the mode.
The way the developers are being so wishy washy, I just don't trust them enough to have a proper, unrestriced PvE mode.
I do however heavily sympathize with the OP. I've been having the same problem with this genre as I have with naval combat games. They're either PvP only or singleplayer. This is 2024, PvE shouldn't be this hard to find.
lets say you get a pve mode, you go into the dungeon, get loot, get better gear, now you do it again, and again, and again, the same thing over and over. maybe eventually you'll hit the boss, but in the end you're all geared up but theres no harder content, theres no way you're going to continue doing that same thing over and over..? eventually you're going to hit a wall and be like ''yep i beat the game, time to move on''
it sounds like fun at first, but after 50-100 hrs its not going to be, trust me. it gets very old very fast. i've played this game 1000 something hours before it hit Steam. there used to be ranking for treasure hunting and generally pve content, everyone hated it. you had to get some arbitrary number up every extraction collecting treasure to reach next rank, it was so frustrating cos if you died one game, you'd go 3 steps back and so on.
i've heard so many pve arguments and it just doesn't work in this game. the more you divide people to different modes or brackets, the more its going to decline.
I'm not asking for a pve mode, im asking for games similiar to DaD that are pve focused/entirely pve.
I appreciate your given opinions but...I believe you're kind of barking up the wrong tree here lol, I already understand that a PVE mode for DaD in particular wouldn't work if all they did was allowed it because of your listed reasons, the PVE mode would need to be its own thing, developed with a pve focus in mind. The mobs in DaD are more of an obstacle than anything else that you have to navigate in between the meat of the game, which is pvp.
That's why I asked for games LIKE DaD and not for a PVE mode lol, because I enjoy the pve aspects of DaD and don't enjoy the meat of it, the pvp fights. I also enjoy the general feel of the combat and the way spells and stuff are handled too
WURM is more of a persistent MMO with extremely convoluted systems, the combat isn't all that great.
Yeah I was seeing that, but I would hope seeing the PvE being limited was just a beta thing, after all the main game is what you would want tested. Guess we will see the end choice once it launches fully. Is a shame though that the 3 games doing this all seem to want to grab the same audience instead of one branching off to try the PvE only crowd.
