How many players per map?

I played the og steam and i remember it being chaotic with lots of different fights. Now I don't even see anyone 75% of the matches. What happened?

I figured that might be an issue also, but what are the numbers and have they changed? The lobbies definitely seem way smaller but idk if that translates into the map itself.

Last time I checked this, which was a while ago so it may have changed, the max players was 6 parties of 3, so 18 players in total.

Ya it's like max 18 on normals and 20 on HR.

I only run into other players at all tbh when I am about to get something I need for a quest, then they show up right at extract lol.
