Did they remove portals?

I played 2 games, never saw the red ring on the map, and never saw a portal spawn in the feed. Did they entirely change the game or is it just bugged? I have yet to see a portal in the "forgotten castle" and frost mountain. I just had to die bc the time ran out and my friend took the staircase to extract

Idont even see the map closing in any more and just get killed by cave ins lol

The battle royale circle has been removed entirely, all of the extracts and ways down are now static staircases, boats, elevators, ropes etc. In the ice cave, there's two rooms with a bottomless void, if you want to descend you need to wait until one of the pits has a red glow to it.

I got back on after about a year, and I gotta say I have died to the map timer almost every game. Devs have really ruined this game unfortunately

I dont get this change at all. Without the circle you barely run into other people and without the easily to spot blue portals most of our deaths was because of the timer running out and not finding an exit. Like how tf are you supposed to look for some lever or rope that might as well be part of the scenery while the entire thriller music video cast is breathing down your neck

Goblin caves - ropes and staircases will be marked on the map. there is a multi person platform that spawns in the middle every min or so near end of the timer

Crypts - look for blue cracked spots on the ground, portals will spawn there. or look for staircases marked on the map. red goes into hell, blue is escape

Ice Caves - on any module that has water, rafts will appear at random intervals. you and your party can hop on these to escape. otherwise you will need to find a staircase. you can also wait in the module with several bridges and the pit will light up red, that's how you descend into ice hell

The extraction system has changed quite a bit since the playtests from last year. The BR circles of all maps have been entirely removed. Thaine did a good explanation already but the main premise is this:

There are static extracts that open after a certain amount of time has passed that are one time use (With the exception of elevators that are team extracts)

There are also portal rifts in the ground of different modules on the maps where a triple portal will emerge around the 5 minute mark

The ropes and static extracts are marked as Blue icons on your minimap its practically impossible to miss em

I like the new changes, it encourages everyone to go deeper down. The red staircases can extract an entire team, where as the blue exits only work on individual players.
