Can I buy Premium for a friend?

I was wondering if it's possible to gift a friend red stone or just get legendary status for them.

You can buy the game as a gift through their website but I don't think you can buy currency like that right now.

I thought about this but doesnt the currency require a credit card and not steam balance?

I used a combination of a steam balance (from a refund) and a bought-on-the-spot wallet top-up.
