And from what I understand nexon didnt claim all of those files were stolen, they just claimed having 2338 files with the same name was sketchy and that those files needed to be investigated. I might be wrong here but that was my understanding
Nexon stated 2338 files, but in the DMCA excluded the files that could be based on using the same engine. That left around 1030 files. The list Ironmace posted shows that around 950 of them come straight from unreal marketplace, with links to the direct assets. The rest, around 80 (41 after considering duplicates?) are generic things, like fireball and torch.
Because they have been willing to submit their game code and assets to a third party for comparison while Nexon has been blowing hot air. One of these entities has been transparent and the other has not.
As for Steam, they are covering their asses until it is resolved. They are a third party in this case with no affiliation either way and don't want to get dragged into legal nonsense.
baby doesn't want to play with toy
other baby starts playing with toy
baby wants toy again
This.
Also it wouldn't be the first time steam took a game off the store because of a crappy claim that was quickly fixed. I follow a lot of indie games.
