I came here to check on the game and what I've found is a bunch of people who appear to be adults (or at least old enough to understand what maturity is and how to behave) acting like children. This goes for almost everyone in the comment thread, aside from a select few, I'm not gonna call anyone out. But you know who you are. And you should be ashamed of yourselves for acting with the maturity level of a child. Having a civil conversation is one thing, comparing notes and knowledge is one thing, you can even disagree RESPECTFULLY. And yet nobody does. I agree this thread should be taken down. Not due to the lack of moderation but for the fact that it's needed at all. You all should apologize to one another. It's not very hard to be respectful to someone even if they are being rude to you first. If that happens simply ignore them. Disregard what they say until they can say it nicely. Put your own pride aside. Claiming you know everything when neither side has fully released all of their information is extremely ignorant. This is why it's important to compare notes. You can be on different sides but still compare information, and if things aren't going your way don't exaggerate details, because in the end what will that do asidenfrom make you look like a fool and then it will only be worse. We are all people here and we need to treat each other like it. It doesn't matter if we are in person or online. We need to be better.

But if in this case if the Dark & Darker developers stole assets that were intellectual property of Nexon, then they've dug their own grave. If they can prove they weren't good for them, but I can only imagine they will have to rebuild all assets from scratch or use some cheap store assets just to get back on track, or they may never recover and if it was their fault, then I can't even feel sorry for them.

Nexon had a police raid staged on Dark and Darker's studio, and the police found no evidence of stolen files. The assets used in Dark and Darker are all Unreal Engine assets, things you can get on the UE library, which a majority of said assets are just placeholders anyways, which would be replaced before the game is officially released.

Nexon is just a cry baby ♥♥♥♥♥, wanting money but not putting in the effort to get it. So now they want to cry about another dev team doing better and faster work than their own dev team, to snuff out competition in order to secure a game idea for themselves. You can't copyright a genre, but you can make false claims and push court dates back constantly to run your opposition out of money to ensure they go bankrupt and have to quit their project.

Nexon needs to burn.

This isn't the age of technology, this is the age of sitting on one's ass and blowing hot air.

also, you got to understand no one's really willing to play a game would ever do such on a title developed by Nexon.. get a grip dude, it's Nexon.

Nexon has nothing to do with it.. it's the same as saying Microsoft does "Quake" because they own id Software.. seriously, get a grip, Nexon as game developer is irrelevant, they will never be able to create anything decent unless they change their whole structure and mentality.. which, I can tell you, ain't ever happening.

and by the way, acquisitions happens all the time.. most smaller business acquire good and decent staff for the very reason they are not corporate giants with dumb policies and questionable methods built into their deliverables, or perhaps in this case, products or games they actually create.. you will come and say Nexon has put it a team together and called "Mintrocket" - yeah, nah.. I know this doesn't happen as Nexon will always want "Nexon" name on stuff, it's just someone who founded that small business decided it's best to never use Nexon name on anything, Nexon probably has little to no word on what Mintrocket decides to do, apart from, paying the bill.. - that's good use of Nexon, they pay the bill for intelligent people, I like that.

PS: as soon they lose in court to Ironmace they will also pick up the tab, obviously a defamation case will arise if Ironmace or its founder is not found guilty... so in some weird way, they will also pay for Dark & Darker to exist.. and once again, good use of Nexon's money.

And Nexon was publishing P3. Mintrocket was developing it. Mintrocket is a standalone sub-brand of Nexon.

Why does Nexon as a developer matter in this regard? Nexon's not a developer, so I feel like you're trying to scapegoat them and find fault where there is none. Nexon is a publisher. They hire development companies. They sometimes form sub brands under them to then develop games for the publishing umbrella corporation because that's cheaper, and sometimes those involve contracts that say "Hey, anything you make during this time is property of us."

This isn't defamation. Defamation is a statement that injures a third party's reputation. Nexon doesn't have the best reputation, however neither party has said anything past allegations, which is entirely legal. Nexon alleges that Choi, Park, and Ironmace of crimes. That is not defamation. Otherwise, many #MeToo allegations would be turned against those claiming sexual abuse as defamation.
