A lot of people are reporting lag, and there's the issues with the launcher deleting stuff.
If you really want to play, I would at least hold off until reports of lag settle.
=> So far most of the bug of the first and second player test are not fixed
=> Spawn spot is still broken (exemple : the goblin dungeon where you have a spawn with your oppenent in your direct line of sight).
=> Unstable servers
=> Weird stuff : flying players, ...
So best advice would be maybe to wait for a few weeks and see if the game is still working.
Played the EA release for the first time today on EU server. No server or performance issues at all.
and I'll second that.. I've personally played over three different AWS endpoints and I had absolute no connection issues.
while I'm not entirely fond of Early Access and I find this method of delivery rather poor for us, end-users, I'd go on a limb and say usually the best time to play is at the very start, since people are learning and servers are pumping.
so yeah, did you like the game or you had any kind of interest in acquiring? - you should definitely go ahead and do it.
what about it is "basically illegal". They don't have to stop development on the game or not sell it. This is for the courts to decide, not an armchair lawyer
