Archers need limited ammo
Its stupid that an archer can stand somewhere high at end circle and shoot you infinitely and be able to kill you eventually even if theyre a terrible shot. There is no reason an archer should be able to fire 100 shots just to kill you.

It would be hard to balance, how many arrows one needs lol , only way I can see it work is if they would have limited amount they can shoot without reloading.

You know once a archer has shot six arrows they have to reload right?

I kind of agree. They could also then put stats on the ammo, and even have different ammo types to really flesh out ranged too. Maybe they can have infinite basic, dark grey ammo, that's nerfed even more severely. But higher tier ammo can then gain more bonuses from gear, and do extra things.

they start with camp fire. maybe they have 50 rounds. they have to sit at a camp fire to "whittle" some more.. IDK, the mage has limited spells and i dont see why the ranger has practically no downside. fast movement, DPS, range, unlimited ammo, heals, headshot bonuses... its kind of nuts how strong that class is.

its easy to balance imo, make it liek wizards meditate. have lets say 30 arrows then they meditate (fletch more) something like that, then again idk if its even a big deal its unlimited but idk im fine with whatever, I think different playstyles are goign to be far superior to others like an archer is always superior against mobs and pvp just because they have ranged damage just how it is and imo thats not an issue people should be able to play what they want and have fun, a barbarian/berserkers always gonna be physically stronger than the average person. theyre just built different and anyone can play them so its completely fair id think

Bows needs less total arrows before they need to reload. I use the Survival bow with 7 arrows and it is mad good to have 7 arrows. Get a decent survival bow with 20+ damage and a melee with 30+ damage and you are set for pretty much anything. Survival bow is way faster than the other bows, which makes up for the small damage. I have tried crossbows and they can deal insane damage but I do not like that playstyle, you are super vulnerable when rushed.

Maybe you should try going after them? or going away from them? I really haven't had many issues with archers. They're slow while they have their bow drawn so bait out the quick fire then close in for the kill, they're easier to dodge up close and they will usually get frazzled and try to run away. That's my experience with level 20 fighter vs archer anyway

kinda like bringing a knife to a gun fight, the gun users going to always be at a massive advantage by default no matter how you try to balance them

The recuv bow does 30-35 damage and has 6 shots and is not really that slow. Long bow does even more damage but it only has 4 shots, so there is some balancing in that regard.

you do realize that if an archer is an unreachable spot it doesnt matter how many times they have to reload if they have infinite ammo and they can just baby sit the only portal out

yeah that doesnt work when they sit in unreachable spots and shoot at you infinitely

Survival bow is just more fun to me but yes, the other bows are probably stronger overall since they can do 40-50 damage. The fast gameplay of Survival Bow is just more fun and then I use a Spear or a good sword for melee since Survival Bow is quite weak in close combat, the spear is stupid good though, probably my favorite melee weapon since it is super accurate.

you know what could work? maybe making it much less accurate, so a % chance for it to sway off course, slower draw speed and a limited amount with a meditate/campfire like restore. the sway wouldnt effect it if enemies are directly on you as it would just sway to a diff part of body, where at longer distances it may cause issues. or maybe theyre such a bad shot the sway actually somehow hits the target lmao. idk tho how can you really balanced a ranged weapon on unreachable high ground against a melee user in general? maybe better projectile protection and buff archers damage to mobs and nerf it to players? idk. maybe allow them a knife then too

All character can bob and weave to advance and make shots difficult, fighters can block and have sprint to close the distance along with being able to use ranged weapons themselfs, Rouge can rupture throwing knifes or smoke bomb, Wizards have ranged spells & have haste.

If a ranger is sat on the ONLY blue portal out then they're just gonna walk though the portal
if you get close enough. So you ether force them out, take them at range or go into a red portal.

You are complaining about a very specific situation.
