I think the solo mode is great since there's really not much chance of winning many 1v3s and I like just doing a quick run in the goblin caves while waiting for someone. But I've not really had any issues playing as a duo in the forgotten castle.
I think the two most important categories will be solos and a general "groups" category.
I do assume everyone is at a equal playing field which is why i think it becomes a unfair advantage. Until a wipe comes along to balance out the playing field again. But sooner or later everyone has good gear to enter a dungeon. So as you a said a Trio should beat a duo.
It prolly is my play style I love the rogue class but they are simply so weak. and I refuse to play a barbarian cause that's all everyone plays, because its so strong lol
Its just not always the case though, there's always new and returning players, and quite often I have a set or two of good gear in my stash but will still do runs without taking anything in just to get some extra sets I can afford to lose. I do believe that they will be doing resets every "season" or whatever they want to call it to put everyone back on the same starting level.
Again, without saying "skill issue" or "git gud", skill definitely does come into play, lots of people play lots of other BRs in trio lobbies as a duo and do perfectly fine. How many trios quite often have 2 geared player and one new guy they're trying to help? Basically evens out.
I don't think we need to keep splitting the playerbase into solo, duo, trio, PvE and whatever other different modes everyone wants added.
This isn't Hunt where a single player can 1v3 (unless you are a Ranger I guess) or 2v3 effectively with good aiming or sneaking. It feels extremely hopeless being down a player in PVP; 2's seems like the logical choice.
These games aren't exclusively PvP though. If you're playing it like it is, then you're going in with the wrong expectations. Loot is the goal at the end of the day, other players exist first and foremost as obstacles for that. If this game were meant to be played exclusively as a PvP arena, then i'd agree, but it's not so i don't.
Given that in the last 5 games I have seen 0 portals and 30 players then yes, it is a PVP game. Don't get me started on how many things the game needs to improve upon (like hey, actually have portals to be able to leave exist?), but pretending you can get out of a portal without PVP is ludicrous. I'm level 12 now and I legit have seen less than 5 portals, despite getting near the end most of the time.
The game moves way too fast for it to be a "loot and leave" system. The circle closes way too fast for how slow you do things, especially as a duo. Fully looting an entire room is guaranteed PVP or circle closing on you most of the time.
Games like Hunt are way more "get some loot/xp and leave" than this game.
Just seen a post like this in another thread, I'm not sure what kind of games you people are playing to consistently never see anyone exit the dungeon? You're playing the game entirely wrong if you have seen less than five portals in the time you've levelled up to level 12.
I really don't even know what to suggest. Are you just dying early on? The portals typically spawn further towards the end of the timer, but you can see in the feed in the top right when portals spawn and which portals spawn, i.e. 1 Person Escape Portal or 3 Person Down Portal so you roughly know when to start looking for them.
When portals do spawn they will always be inside the white circle, however the circle obviously shrinks over time and portals can be left outside of the safe zone, but you can still use them.
Just in case you didn't know they originally spawn out of the ground as blue or red stones which you need to interact with for a few seconds to have the actual blue oval shaped portal pop up which you can then exit through.
That I wouldnt agree with so much because lvl 1 any class in the solo dungeon your capable of leaving with ease. Maybe not as a wizard cause he seems to be so fragile and spell casting is just way to long to effectively put out damage to clear a room. Circle closing time is relatively balanced especially when you know the map, monster spawns and portal spawns. Now in the trio dungeon I can could see it cause the map is so much bigger and way more monsters.
I play a rogue in solo, i have more success in the castle rather than the cave, dont matter if its groups or solos i meet, just lay low and wait for a chance to strike, but in most cases let them pass, let them fight eachother, pick up the scraps.
