A Ranger can do anywhere from 15 and 21 shots without a reload animation depending on their bow if they have quick shot and multi-shot.
1st of all this player had to open their inventory at least once mid fight to equip additional axes. You can see that only 2 of their 3 belt slots are empty but he threw 9.
2nd you had more shield pots that you could have used but chose not to
3rd you saw him spamming axes and decided not to take cover and instead ran at him down a hallway with a choke point in it
4th once you had decided to push through all his axes you should have put your weapon away so you could run faster. He would have had to swap to his big axe anyways to fight you in melee so its not like you would have lost any time doing the same.
think past 2 more seconds. you run away then what? they chase you with inventory of axes which they brought in because they are so good on the most hp and strongest class with a sprint. there is no 'taking cover' taking cover in this game is called letting your spacing go, the games meta is all about burst damage if one player cannot do that then the other will always have more advantage.
if you 'take cover' behind a corner well now you are stuck and they still have axes, if you run away well while running they can still throw axes at you.
it's purely lose lose situation unless the other player is mediocre/bad.
