I consistently get doinked by polearms though, F
Hardcore game? How exactly is it hardcore?
Hand holding is asking for a "More" fair fight?
I imagine you have no real opinion of the discussion here?
I will take it you are against the idea of matching players based on gear.
yeh im against gearscore this isnt WoW, bring in what you think you can get out with and more, otherwise..bring basic ♥♥♥♥ in. Risk vs reward, butt clenching moments where you hope you arent gonna die and loose all your stuff, people crying for class balance and making things fair are hilarious, get over the fact you are not keeping all your stuff forever in this game or leave instead of creying for changes that will ruin the game
IMO i'm not in favor of gear based match making, no. Having some soft thresholds based on a kill-to-death ratio would maaaaybe be reasonable. It really is hard to say though without seeing the final product though. It's been said that high quality gear is more abundant due to the playtests being so short, so it could very well end up with purples being almost unseen except for the exceptionally skilled players, and even blues being more rare.
I think either way though, the best way to handle this is to alter the way you play yourself. If someone isn't as good at PvP and don't have the greatest kit, they should instead be focusing on avoiding combat by finding hiding spots and using the map to their advantage. Escape is the goal, not combat. Prioritize that over anything.
I agree it is difficult to invision without having the final product, but i feel matching players based on gear is a less intrusive way than a Kill/death ratio, i imagine this would lead to the best playing against the best, which noone wants.
Players still want to be able to play against worse / better players, but be on the same playing field.
Fair point.
However i am not asking for 100% equality / fairness, just less of a gap from, complete new player to full purple +all stats 3 man team.
It's 80% skill lmao
I understand that I'm not going to win every fight, and that gear CAN make a significant difference; however I don't believe it decides the outcome of a fight.
I've recently been playing Rogue a lot, and I find that by being a sneaky, agile, slimy little rat bastard I can consistently 1v2, and maybe even 1v3. Yes, if a barb smacks me in the face, I'm gonna die. Yes, if the wizard I didn't see kneecaps me with a fireball, I'm gonna die, but ultimately I've found that superior positioning, a little surprise, and quick action is enough to win MOST fights
Just use positioning and ambushes, you'll kill fully juiced people EZPZ
